White Dove/Rebecca has been the source of inspiration and comfort to many a senior I knew, and still know at an extended care facility, called CedarLodge in Vancouver.  Her words are read daily to patients by nurses, family members, and weekly at their poetry meetings on each floor.  When I informed the head nurse of her condition, the nurses and the residents started their own prayer vigil for her, and asked I send Rebecca's family their prayers, and thanks for all her poetry.  I should like to send my prayers to her as well.

Please feel feel to add to this, or create your own prayer, poem or words for Rebecca, as she and her family need all of us right now.  She is a firm believer in the power of prayer, so let's pull together and just do it for her!

~* Prayers For White Dove *~

She flies through these halls, our angel, White Dove,
Sharing her poetry of peace, goodwill, hope, and love.
All through the Internet, so vast and so wide,
Her name is well known; she should wear it in pride.

How could this beautiful dove be chained to the ground?
We all feel her vibrancy in each word we sound?
Those passages she sets before our open eyes,
Bring relief to what were just once painful cries.

It’s madness I tell you to hear of her plight,
I pray that she's finally healed this very night.
I don’t often pray, yes I admit I did stray,
But I’ll go down on my knees for her today.

What’s that I see, smoldering smoke up in the sky,
Millions of candles lit in the question of  “why?”
Millions of prayers being said for our sweet White Dove,
Who accepts more than I do, God’s wishes above.

For White Dove I pray for renewed strength to fight,
For her spirit to soar like an eagle, strong in its flight.
I’ll pray the two become one, to sail over once more,
And grace these halls of Passion, forevermore.

White Dove, your  “Passionate friends,” near and far,
Wish to tell you in poetry just how special you are.
We send you Rebecca, our love on this trying day,
And the strength to stay with us is all that we pray.

Dear Mysteria: Thanks for posting the prayer request for Rebecca.  I have been following her progress in the Discussion Forum and saying prayers since last June, but we need as many as we can get!

Here is a poem I wrote today for her.

Dear Rebecca:

For many months, I've prayed for you
And asked that God would bring you through
The great ordeal that you have known.
But you were never there alone.
Beyond the love of family,
So very many came to be
A praying circle, vast indeed,
To answer every daily need
And when it looked the darkest, we,
Intensified our prayers for thee!
A miracle is not too much
To ask of He, who by His touch
Removes all pain and lifts the soul,
Restoring you and making whole!

Love
Betty Lou

You are so right a miracle is not too much to ask for at all.  Beautiful, and her Mom will see she gets this.

To your touching beautiful words, I add my small senryu for our dear poet friend Rebecca, wishing her well!

God’s heart holds White Dove

guiding and showering her

with His Light and Love

In Our Lord of Heavens we trust.

Never Far

True friendship knows no boundary
No distance and no space
For in His Love so found are we
That nothing can erase
The moments passed, the moments shared
Where joined like family
And all the times you showed you cared
Are never far from me
So even though this time may seem
That you are on your own
Please, be  assured our prayers are heard
And friendship’s only grown.

God Bless You, WhtDove,
Lighthouse Bob
