Light and Shadow

In the evening, by the lamplight,
There's a certainty in me,
That the radiance it's shedding
Can never hope to be
But a fraction of the glory
That the Savior must employ,
When He comes to claim His people
And bring them home with joy!

In the shadows of the twilight,
Which hide away the day,
There's a feeling of contentment
And an inner voice to say,
He is always watching over,
Until daylight comes once more
And will guide our craft forever,
Till we reach that distant shore!

Dear Betty Lou

There is a serenety about this poem and I am sure He will keep the 'home fires burning'!  Your poetry always talks to me!

This is really good.  I read it a couple of times, and I can see the dualism you're building, how while something can exist only as a fraction of that love we are all to inevitably expect, it is also a constant reminder of how He is manifest in every aspect of our lives, from the faintest ray of light.

I haven't read you in a while.  It's good to see your writing is of consistent quality.  This was a pleasure.
