Awaking this morning I thought of thee Lord. I knelt and prayed for your guidance giving thanks to lead me away from my own righteousness. Though there was work to be done, I was ever thoughtful of thee, giving thanks to thee that thou who were kind enough to allow this servant labor. Throughout the day I held my tongue not giving into my own praise to others to feel saved, reminded even more, I should be like a child if I was to enter into thy kingdom; steadfast in thy still waters. Then realized I should look for thee; in the homeless and give thee my coat; in prison and visit thee; in the hungered and feed thee. Only responding, "Praise the Lord," and they would understand thy kindness. I know when my time comes and I stand before thee alone for thy judgement. Thou shall ask me, "When was it that thou give me thy coat when I was cold; alone in prison and thou visited me; hungered and thou feed me?" I will humble myself in silence and wait for thy praise.

I think having prayer and praise be my first response when I woke up in the morning was one of the hardest things to do (I sleep like an hour and nobody wants to praise God while they get ready for school after an hour of sleep). It was worth it, though. Not that life was better or the days were better, but there was just so much more peace and assurance. LOve how this write reminded me of that again. And yes, won't it be wonderful to hear God tell us "well done" Beautiful words!

Always, Alyssa

To be a servant of all is certainly a "Most High" calling. Amen. Good job.

It is far too easy to do the things we want to do and not the things the Lord has told us to do with his words.  "If you love me what I say", and how often it is so much more of an effort to give up our lives as he did for us.  I find it can not be done unless we all ask for his strength.  None of us has the power to overcome this world only the Lord has the strength to help us. Faith can overcome anything but only the Lord can give us the faith we do not have inside ourselves. "You yourselves can do nothing," how true as his words that lead us on our way to his kingdom.
