Wet drips of suicide splatter my surroundings
They all drift away
Gone from me I live for you
Just a matter of entertainment

Its a struggle to live
Something I'd love to do
Why is it so difficult
Even just to breathe

I have chained myself to a cigarette
And set my lungs on fire with injustice
Or maybe an escaped form of foolishness
A fool with blurry vision

Build on myself and work a little bit
Simple minded task laced with blockade
Life constant challenge sold to defeat
The price of living paid loving feast

I want to do whats right
See the light of Christ
Feel his warm loving grace
Be untangled from my sins

Encouraged to keep going
The greedy selfish hand of darkness
He never misses and always arrogant
His hatred hurts my lungs

Turn my other cheek to his hateful blows
Rise up something new
They'll never stop
But they loose to my faith

No turning back, this time, no walking away -Kutless

I hear you...its tough hey.  But the tide turns.  There's a scripture somewhere that says the God of peace will soon crush satan under your feet. I felt pretty stuck for awhile but God has unravelled the things that held me so tightly - I can breathe deeply and easily now.

I enjoyed your poem - and its more than just heartfelt (in reference to your note encouraging critique)
