Early Morning Musings

I like to rise before the light
Of dawn repels the shades of night.
It's then the birds begin to sing
Their paeans to the start of spring.
Their voices fall upon my ear,
In drifts of beauty, sweet and clear.
There is excitement in the sound
Of wild birds chirping, all around
And much of joy, it seems to me.
A certain sense of joie de vie!
They're thanking God that they are here
To carry on another year.
They fill my heart with thankfulness
For gifts like these, that please and bless!

Thanks Joyce.  I love to hear the birds early in the morning.  By next month, they won't be singing like that anymore. Too busy nesting I suspect!

Hello Betty Lou

I couldn't agree with you more.  Only yesterday morning I was up early and sat outside listening to the birds.  I find that time of the morning to be very inspirational when the rest of the family are in bed and I'm sitting enjoying a cup of my favourite earl grey tea.

Take care.........Sue

Dear Sue:

Thanks for reading. I love Earl Grey tea by the way!

The hummingbirds are just now back. They don't sing, but we enjoy them very much.

Ah Betty. How ironic I would find this poem.
LOL...not more than 1/2 hour ago, I had waken from a nap and just lay there. Hearing the birds chirping away outside. I told my husband how nice it was to hear them back again.

They fly away unnoticed for the winter, until you hear their arrival in the spring, you didn't really notice they were gone, until the music hits your ears again.

I do believe they sing to praise the Lord.
I also sit outside and try to repeat what I hear them chirp. I do get answers back. LOL
It's fun.  Thanks for a wonderful uplifting poem!

Rebecca:
Thanks for your message.  I'm glad you enjoy the bird song as much as I do. It's a highlight of my day and seems to get things off on a cheerful note.

Beautiful!
There are so many tunes out there in nature that express gratitude and to hear them is a true blessing.

Dear Betty Lou

If we all 'listen' to nature we would all have something to be thankful about.  A 'Song of Praise'.
