Faithful (it’s a mystery)

Words are a gift
so last night I prayed
asking God
to give me something to say.
Words that will show in part
how much it’s worth,
this unconditional love
that only he can give.
For me he’s mystery,
but I know it’s not his will
for pain to always stay,
or for us to end up alone
in some dark cold grave.
His name is Jesus.
It’s a mystery
how just saying his name
can swiftly move ten thousand angels
or cause angry waves to calm.
When I am in turmoil
I remember he said
“this too shall pass”
So I know my faith will grow
if I do not stray
and truly believe
he will always make a way.
So far my God
is right on time.
