Somewhere near the Rainbow

White Satin Wing

There she was out my window, the smallest of small,
a beautiful fairy with white satin wings, ready for flight.
I watched as her tiny toes upon tiny feet
lifted her slowly toward the star lit sky this serene night.

Then in a blink of an eye, as if she heard a noise,
back down on the ground she was in such a frightened poise.

She turned to her left and touched her white satin wing,
it wasn’t right, and I saw upon her face a tear.
Upon the ground she now sat, blending with the scenery,
suddenly another fairy appeared and hugged her so dear.

They stood closely together looking up through the sky.
I could just imagine, they were praying for her to fly.

Once again she reached for her white satin wing outstretched,
it looked perfect, ready for this fairy to glide so free.
Together, they held tiny hands and off they went.
Unto me they granted, a vision of spirituality.

Well now how timely, there is a little fairy-lover coming for a sleepover and I shall now have a fairy story to tell her and say that the Lost Dreamer likes fairies too. They are indeed the food of inspiration.

(smiles) Awwwwwwww, ever since I was a little boy I have always loved faeries and always dream of them so very much still!
