I hope in writing the following, I do not offend anyone.  Please forgive me in advance if I do.  I see Christ in a very expansive way; one of the views, I have, is that Christ is a universal light beaming down to us through a facet of the cosmic Diamond which is Almighty God, the all that is all and the creator of all.

My mother told me many times when I was a child, or was it my father (I have forgotten) that how to know right from wrong was as easy as listening to that still small voice from inside.  I have heard ministers and holy men many times refer to that still small voice as a guidance for us in living our lives correctly.

It has occurred to me while listening to my still small voice to share something with you -- something that has the potential and capacity of permanently altering your life for the better.  It is no secret, but few people these days know the reality of it.

That voice is YOU.  It is the TRUE YOU.  We live in a world today which is so consumed by our need to increase in material comfort, physical health, and intellectual growth, an age of technology and information, that we are losing touch with THE REALITY OF OUR BEING.  We are ourselves each physical beings and we strive to take care of that physical being.  But what I tell you now is the truth.  WE WERE CREATED IN THE IMAGE OF ALMIGHTY GOD.  AND GOD IS NOT a physical being.  WE ARE ETERNAL LIKE GOD.  It is true that the physical being is limited to a short time -- WE ARE NOT.  So who are we then if not our brain, our emotions, our heart?

We are GOD'S CREATION.  We exist within the limitless body of the Creator which encompasses all creation.  We exist together with all mankind, all matter, all creation WITHIN GOD.  God encompasses everything so God is literally in his creation, outside his creation and is his creation.  I am not suggesting we are God.  We are not.  God is the Creator; we are the creation.

We have found that for our physical body -- if we want to live well -- we need exercise and good diet.  If that is true for the outer limited shell, how much more important then is it for our spiritual body!

Religion provides us food.  What we need -- and this is the part that's been long forgotten by too many -- is the exercise.  The exercise that will help our spiritual existence manifest itself.  "We are stardust; golden; and we got to get ourselves back to the Garden," as I once heard in a song by Joni Mitchell.  I believe that is the reality.  We are more than the material thing we see in the mirror.  WHAT WE ARE IS THERE STILL IN THAT SMALL VOICE my parents talked about.

But the voice needs a place to be heard.  It needs a forum.  It is time now for us to allow the entity who is our unique identity, our SOUL, to have room to guide us more fully and manifest.  We can permit this to happen if we are quiet enough and surrendered enough to obeying the Will of God.

When Christ wandered in the Desert for 40 days, don't you suppose this is what he was doing?  Christ let His Holy Soul exercise and come forward!  He was truly one with His Eternal Being.  He set a clear example for us to follow in his complete surrender to the Will of the Creator.

What happens in this surrender is the worship of Almighty God.  The soul needs to worship without the influence of our minds and hearts.  In this way, over a period of time our inner voice which is tied to the Creator (I believe through Christ) becomes stronger than our weak physical counterpart.  Eventually, we can become who we are.  WE CAN BECOME.  This happens in a conscious state -- the exercise of the soul -- we just need to make time and be willing to wait quietly and obey our inner voice -- not the brain, not the heart, not the imagination.  When the soul begins to rule our physical bodies, then we are beginning to be what God intended.  And when we shed these feeble physical bodies someday, it will be like the butterfly emerging from the cocoon.  It will be like the rosebud unfolding or the dew rising at dawn when the rays of the sun shine upon the Earth.

This transformation which begins to happens in our makeup can be likened to the formation of a pearl in the jaws of the oyster.  A life on this planet is like the grain of sand thrown into the poor oysters tender muscles.  We are tossed into the womb of our mother Earth.  We cause irritation just like the grain of sand to the oyster.  The Earth reacts and perfects us in her pain and in our pain.  We are buried and covered and shaped into pearls.  And each diversity we encounter in this earthly existence helps to form us if we allow ourselves to exercise our souls.  And the still small voice is the free open channel for the holy teaching spirit of Christ to become the the teacher of our being, showing from the cells out, the right way.  The holy books become illumined and the depth of wisdom we need to acquire is no longer inaccessible or hard to apply to our daily living.  Our senses are awakened.  Our religion becomes more meaningful -- words we've read and known before shed new meaning and englightenment.  But the true aim of our exercise should never be for self-enlightenment, but rather for God to be glorified through a worship given and directed and orchestrated by God -- to be as the Creator wills.  In allowing a place in our lives for the still small voice to grow to a strong, solid voice, we begin to truly BE.

Jo~
The earnestness of this piece is such a heartfelt pour ... good on you !!!

We each find Him to be what we need Him to be in our lives ... He is the Spirit that speaks to me in my quiet times, the Comforter of my fears, the Love that pours all over me ... yes, all this and MORE~

I'll be coming back to read this again and again~
Thank you for sharing it here~

Marge -- thank you so much for reading this.  I just finished reading your feather poem.  I am so amazed by the ideas and images which many of us have in common.  To me the feather has significant meaning, as well, maybe someday I will pen it to words -- but that has not happened yet.  Lots of love to you!.......jo

Margherita, yes, my mother, and my father, did teach me well, but you know who the best teacher is, of course!  You are so kind with your words, thank you.

Scanned through - for I am at lunch. So far I think it is great.  I apologize, but I don't want to truly reply until I get more time to respectfully read it through, but I will.

Thanx and God Bless - Tim

(smiles) Oh Jo, I'm a Catholic and I found this to be just beautifully written, yay! (kiss on cheek) I believe that we must hold dear and listen to the Voice within and let Him be our mentor and let the heart be like a taberacle where He governs us all and we reach to Him with deepest love! (big angel hugs) God Bless You, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jo, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

::smiles::    There is a teaching that says... ALL  is Brahman.   There is another teaching that states...  There is ONLY that which  IS  and you are THAT.  Still another declares... God is  ALL  in  ALL  and says that in HIM... we live and move and have our being. hmm  I wonder which one is correct?  ::bows::

Jo:
This is truly inspired work.  That small voice inside of you needs to get out more.  I am impressed and I hope you continue writing more on this subject.  You parents laid the foundation and planted good seed.  You are the fruit of their labor.  God bless Jo.

iliana,

There is much wisdom expressed here and I did enjoy reading and how I do wish that we all, me included, could just follow or exercise the direction given by that 'small still voice' inside each of our lives that you've described so very well here.

I agree with what you have written and I have found personally that my own life has been so much better when I have listened to that 'small still voice' rather than the many many other voices that are vying for my attention in the world today.

Thank you for sharing and God bless.

-Bob
