Winter sheet on the deck,
the hardwood creaks and
even it seems happy as I
walk out of a deep freeze.
One beautiful pearl eye-
looked me over good tonight.

Thank you God,
para la luna.

And the cold air, and the
winter skyline, blinking.
I think we have the
moon all wrong; could
feel it laughing, putting
something back in my heart.
