“Can I sit with you?”
No, there is no room on the pew
You look different – you’re not pretty
There is no room on the pew
You listen to different music than us
There is no room on the pew
You are not as wealthy as us
There is no room on the pew
“But there are only three people sitting there.”
There is no room on the pew for you.

Descrimination is a terrible thing, as you so aptly show!  Welcome to the forum. I see this is your first post!

Truth is... real christians won't feel this way. That's not the heart of God, and a true christian has the heart of God living inside them.

you touched the reason why you'll never catch me in a church,,,,the attitudes, gossip, and all the leers and comments,,,,,keep the real, giving, warm people away, those that have love to share,,,sad,,,,,but all too true

Shararose,

So...I'm not a true Christian for feeling this way, or a true Christian would never cause me to feel this way?  Either way, you seem extremely judgemental to me...did God put that in your heart?  Is the spirit of God living inside you?

Everyone else,

Thank you so much for your replies.  I really appreciate the outpouring of support and appreciation I have received here.  You guys have made me feel very special.

Shararose,

You completely confused me.  I would much appreciate a little clarity on the previous post.  Visit my site and read my poem 'Essence' or my opinion piece entitled 'What's a Weed?' because I'd LOVE to hear your God-inspired judgements.

Try it this way

Can I sit with you

“Can I sit with you?”
Yes, There is plenty of room on the pew
“But I dress so different – I’m not very pretty”
There is plenty of room on the pew.
“I listen to different music than you”
There is plenty of room on the pew.
“I’m not as wealthy, nor have any money”
There is plenty of room on the pew.
“But, I’m so tired, and lonely today”
There is plenty of room on the pew.
“I don’t know your Jesus, the Lord of your life”
Come sit here beside me, I’ll introduce you,
There is plenty of room on the pew

What I was saying is a true christian would not treat you that way. And it's not God inspired it's the truth. Not because I said it was but because it's what I have read in the Bible. I happen t believe what the Bible says. When I say something in these comment boxes it's either something I have read, (In the Bible) or they are things I have been taught thru teachings in childhood and adult life as well. I was not judging you...HOw can I? Judgement comes from GOD and I don't happen to think I can wear that big a pair of shoes. As for your question do I have the heart of God in me. I do, but right now because of LOTS of things that YOU don't know about I have drifted away from His care. He didn't move away from me I moved away from Him. I already went to the website of yours, but I will go back. I ONLY have given my thoughts toward anything that has to do with God either from teachings, reading HIS word, or from the voice of experiences that I've been through and come out the other side. I am sorry if saying a TRUE christian would not treat you like that. I mean that's what the write was about was the way the subject in this write was being treated. I have to wonder WHY you assumed I was saying something counter to you? Are you someone that I have known through other times online, and you just aren't coming as the person I know by his own name, anonymity perhaps? I do have that problem with someone online so since it has happened to me for so long I think it's only human I wonder about that. And finally as for your snide remarks and comments about me being GOD-INSPIRED...there are times any person that has given their life and heart to GOD that they are but all people are HUMAN, too. Thank you and I will go back and read your poems mentioned but I WILL Not bring what I have to say back here to subject other people to what seems your snotty railings at me. And it's soooooo true....Yes I have my moments and my times that I am human and blow it... difference between GOD and people is HE can forgive and does NOT condemn. He has the capacity to. He's not so full of hatefulness that HE can see our frailties.

Thank You for the oopportunity to be JUDGED by you without even a word I am blasted with accusation. I can get angry about that, and feel bad feeilngs about you, but God will forgive you when a human being might not. HE is the one that is worthy to talk about not all this stuff about what OTHER humans do to other humans.
Terri~

p.s. from now on if you have a problem with me will you take it to the (e-mail) icon and e-mail me. Other people don't want to be dragged in to the negativity, please? Try to be considertate of other people's feeings..not just our own. Is that a bad thing, too? And isn't it so strange the person that has been follwing me online used to tell me I was nothing but a weed.Coincidence? And wasn't that a nice thing to say about a person that only loved in her heart.

This is a very good example of my favorite phrase...

Sitting in a pew and praying no more entitles you to call yourself a Christian than sitting in a garage and making puttering noises entitles you to call yourself a Chevrolet.

Good job.

Cause in my dreams it's always there
The evil face that twists my mind
And brings me to despair.

Shararose,

Thank you for the (extremely) long e-mail.  I will reply shortly.  I guess I got you a little heated, huh?  I guess you stubbed your toe when you tried to step on someone else's.

Ringo,

Good point.  Funny, but true.

(big angel hugs) I too must say that I disagree with this view and find whoever believes such this place is not for everyone is contradictory of true Christian belief, as He knows all, sees all, and welcomes all and we all bleed the same color, of most precious blood, therefore we are all blood siblings and belong in the same sanctuary together, and must learn to come together peacefully by His word and guidance in fellowship! Nevertheless I really enjoyed this powerful debut of yours and because I believe in the First Amendment, I respect you for speaking out your convictions regardless if I disagree or not, God Bless You! Welcome to Passions, sweet Fink, may you be inspired by all of us here as we will all be inspired by your lovely words! I can't wait to read more of your wonderful words, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Fink, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

hmmmmm.  I don't think I've ever said that before, but I have felt that from others.  Kind of like looking for a seat on the bus.  Interesting how you phrased this poem, and very much a reality in some situations.
