Here is my simple prayer Lord
hope it's not too much to ask
you see, I need your help
I need the old me back.

I'm not as cheerful anymore
and my heart is full of hate
teach me how to get over this
please...before it is too late.

I don't want to be like this
cold to the ones I know that care
can you show me how to change
and how to let go of this burden I bare?

Trying to be a good Christian
but along the way,I do fall
people say hurtful words to me
and its hard to stand tall.

Other people's opinions shouldn't matter
then why does it bother me so much?
when you were on your way to Calvery
were you angry that Judas betrayed your trust?

I have many backstabbers in my life
and I don't handle them so well
in fact there were times that I
wish I could send then straight to hell.

But you said to love one another
and thats why I try to do
I don't know where I would be
if it wasn't for the support from you.

I'm praying not only for me,but for them
the people who do not believe in you
for those who kill innocent people
and for the victims for what they go through.

I just don't want to lose my way Lord
and I want to please you always
for one day, when I get to heaven
I will live in your eternal reign....

He is right there with you. Just lift your eyes and keep them fixed on Him and you will feel His smile.

He knows your heart and will show you what you need in His own time. The fact that you are concerned about your thoughts and feelings shows that you are well on your way to an answer. Beautiful poem.
