I guess that I must be doing something wrong
I've tried to forget, I've tried being strong.
But I am still here, in the same exact spot
that all of my slip-ups and struggles have bought.

Did I pray to deaf ears, wish on the wrong star
because whatever I did didn't get me very far.
I've bled, I've cried, worked my fingers to the bone,
Only to find myself so far from home,
that I don't know my way back.

Others around seem to be doing the same thing,
but the difference is they're living their dreams.
While I'm on the outside looking back in
on the life where my face should have been.

I see their smiles and I hear the laughter
of those who have found what I have been after.
But my heart is heavy, and my spirit is dry
as I fall to my knees and look to the sky,
deciding to give heaven one more try
to show me the man I was created to be.

I don't know why all the poems I post here are a little sad, I am not a sad person, but just in a little downtime...but everything is better!!

Just seems to be the natural order of things, up times, and down times, just a fact of life I think. A little of both.

When we're sad and lonely we have more time to write I guess.  You'll soon find some happy times and meanwhile we're enjoying your poetry.  Love, Joyce

I am coming to look forward to all of your stuff.I usually never read stuff on here but what you have to say is amazing. I don't think your poems are sad...its life. We keep on searching for something and once we dry up we turn to God for help because he is the only answer we have. Thank you so much for posting

I can't be your superman
