~* A Purposeful Prayer *~

I breathe in echoes of thought
while sitting in an acute stillness,
bare and stripped of altering masks.
Serenity surrounds me as I pray.

I listen to each grain of sand
drifting so gently in life’s hourglass.
A metronome of mind enlightening thoughts
Ignite an almost new awakening.

My vision quest propels me
to an introspection on purpose.
My quest, to find a deliverance.
A pure, cleansing of soul,
My reason for being.

Only in this nakedness truth,
and enlightenment through prayer
Do I see I am so very small,
one child in a universe
also searching for purpose.

It is here and now
an understanding of self
emerges for acceptance
of all that I am, or will become.

For in this humble state
and only then can one completely
get the answers to our questions.
I asked and knew in that instant
I knew purpose ~
It was to give and receive his love.

"Therefore I tell you,
whatever you ask for in prayer,
believe that you have received it,
and it will be yours."

Mark 11:24

(smiles) Oh Sharon, this is soooooooo beautiful, sweet friend, this made me cry as it made me remember how I too turned to Him with all my heart as a boy when I didn't know who I was and asked Him and believe because I felt comfort inside and saw a rainbow He answered me! (big angel hugs) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is a true treasure, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sharon, thank you for sharing, ooohhhhhh...and thanks for those wonderful fun e-mails you keep sending, yay!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Sharon:  This is so beautiful!  Sometimes when I pray and ask for specific things, I feel guilty for bothering Him with such small requests, but I too remember his loving words and so often, He does provide what I ask for.  If He doesn't, I always feel there is a reason!

Betty Lou, I remember as a child my grandmother told me when I said my prayers to ask God for whatever I wanted, but he would only give me what I needed

Amen sister -
Sometimes it so hard to accept that God always knows what we need better than we do.  I know your emotion - there is a certain sense of longing - an ache to understand, to be so close to God that he might enlighten you - this ache is a blessing and shows your wonderful fear of the Lord.  God bless you and thank you - Tim

Oh My Sharon . . .
this is beautiful:

For in this humble state
and only then can one completely
get the answers to our questions.
I asked and knew in that instant
I knew purpose ~
It was to give and receive his love.

yes indeed . . you know why?
I was never so humbled in my life . . .
still searching, always will be
but getting closer . . .
I can smell it . . .

I snagged that prayer bar - I want to put my name on it for a graphic

My Goodness hey this reminds me of this:

"Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with perserverance the race that is set before us . . ."

-Hebrews 12:1

It is evident that you have accepted God's love in your life because you are so ready to give it away.... Thank you (Thank you) for your prayers and your concern. We truly never really are very far away when we hold such dear family close to our hearts. Amen.

Bob

BOB!  I was thinking of you only today and here you are?  Where the heck have you been Sir?  I started reading your poetry in the archives last evening to see if I could find out what was up with you and yours, and trust this finds you well.  You are sorely missed.  God bless you.
