goodbye is never easy to say
and hello was even harder
so do I turn now and walk away
or pray that you will take me as I am
even though we both know you never could
I could say that I need this
that you are everything my life is missing
but again we both know that is not true
you hurt me so bad
and I cried a river of tears
and yet I long for you still
I ask God to show me the way
how many times must I stand before you
hopeing that you will love me for me
how many times must I bear my soul
only to have you try to change it
how many tears do I cry wondering what
it is about me you could never love
how many times must I look into the
faces of the children you did love
the ones you chose above me
how many times must I hear how you would change me
how many times must I hate you and forgive
God how many times do I let him destroy me
How much do I change to please him
he is my father and I love him
but how many times do I have to remember
all the years he ignored me
all the times he said I wasnt good enough
all he tried to take from me
God, true Father, when is it time to say goodbye?

I'm sorry and I have no answer.  Time sometimes makes great changes.  Have faith.  Love, Joyce

Forgiveness Versus the Restoration of Trust

When you forgive you set aside
Your thirst to extract payment
Allowing men to crucify your pride
To die for others is why you’ve been sent

When you forgive you must release
Even though emotions are not appeased
Even though you are precisely right
And your opponents deserve a fierce fight

When you forgive you do not betray
The claim on justice for the King
Nor do you from righteous principles stray
Though your intellect to the altar bring

When you forgive He never promised a sense
That the relationship would have mend
In fact it may remain quite tense
Should the offender see no need rescind

Forgiveness you’ll find to be a process
Not a flick of the switch and all is right
Emotions return like soldiers from fortress
To assault you in the middle of night

War a good warfare and fight a good fight
Behold you participate in your deliverance
By My Spirit, son, and not by your might
From resentment’s anger have severance

Trust, you must see a different matter
Be counseled to distinguish the two
Having been honest with foe about his failure
The offender must now come to you

While you wait, pray is what scriptures say
Because the day may come or not
Ask for the grace to love any way
If he desires your trust, it must be sought

Love,

Sometimes it is just as easy to simply accept them for what they are, and just be ourselves.  This is a sad pain I am afraid many will identify with.

Allstaria22:  I'm sorry for what you are going through!  I can certainly relate to your feelings and there are no ready answers.  You simply cannot change people or force them to love and value you!  They either do or they don't and at some point you have to live your life without that! Sometimes, without them too.
