The Concert of Life
How can I enjoy the sunbeams dancing
on the water caressed by the breeze,
when knowing that there are eyes
which have never seen anything but
stormy waters filling them with fear?

How can I feel cozy in my sunlit room,
feeling the soft, warm touch of serenity,
when knowing that there are so many
who have lost or never had such a place
and who feel the cold night's embrace?

How can I sit at my table like a queen,
having delicious abundance displayed,
when knowing that so many in this world
feel painful claws torturing their flesh
for they have only their own tears to drink?

How can I indulge in my sweet dreams
of love, of joy, of happiness and of peace,
when knowing that there are hearts which
have never felt to be in the right to dream
of the Beauty of life, never having met it?

How can I sing and enjoy heavenly music
giving my heart divinely sweet, spiritual food,
when knowing that there are ears that have
never heard anything but frightening sounds
of a world out of balance, of a world in war?

My Lord of Heavens please touch with your
Love all those who have lost the Joy of Life,
touch their bodies, their ears and their eyes,
above all touch their hearts and their soul,
so that they may discover the beauty of You!

Come and stay with us, come and comfort all
your creatures, open our hearts to receive You,
come and attune all those voices who are
missing your Song, let them be part of your
Design, let them sing in Your Concert of Life!
Love, Margherita

How, you ask. Just count your blessing and continue with the last two verses.
These are questions we all have pondered from time to time.

Thanks,
Melton

This is a sweet poem and prayer.  I think God wants us to enjoy the happy days he allots us but he wants us to do our share to care for others.  We will each have to face our sorrows as they come.  Love, Joyce

The first word that comes to mind is "heart wrenching."  I love your poem.  I have written one with the same idea behind it.  Nice to now others think like I do.  I really felt your poem and could identify with it.  A prayer we should all pray everyday.

(big hugggssssssss) God Bless You, dearest friend, though I do always live on and follow my path, I too always think about the unfortunate and I always pray for them as I only wish everyone could walk and smile without faking it each day! (sigh) I pray with you, dearest friend, God Bless your compassionate heart, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Margherita, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Margherita, you have so eloquently expressed what many of us feel from time to time.

I believe that we should be thankful for our blessings and lend a helping hand to those less fortunate.

A meaningful and touching piece of poetry.

Love & Light,
Linda

Thank you all my friends for reading and for your comments, which I enjoyed.

Yes, it's all about being aware of the great gaps existing in our world, and about doing what is in our power to help this world become a better place.

Gratitude yes, dear Earth Angel, and out of gratitude grows our need to do something.

Material greed is often the cause of lack of balance in society. The resources would be enough for world population if managed wisely, but the attachment to power and "superiority" often impedes to see clearly what should be done.

I pray for the awakening of souls to spread the ability/necessity to live and act according to the Divine laws of Love.

Thank you all.
Love, Margherita
