Sweet Defiant Fade

Grounded by the fumbling roads that wind
I sky jump beside my sibling’s souls
Plodding hard below the soils tilled by time
I lift my anchored head and grow
Entombed within the egotistic reign of self
I walk anew upon your humble stones
Despite the burden of my eyes
I know

Encompassed by the wailing winds of pain
my soul rests tenderly without despair
Wrapped by a strangling mesh of rain
I trod high beside the sun and dare
Obscured deep beneath a flood of death
I am restored to breathe redeeming air
Despite the wearing of my heart
I care

Compelled to fall upon this rolling blue
my closing lids find new worlds within
Trampled down by blackened human truths
I hold my bending tongue of sin
Torn and pounded by bones left inside
I find your graceful touch to mend
Despite my clouded rusty doors
I win

Plunging down the slopes of human thought
I search the still small voice inside
Condemned to wait for knowledge sought
I pause to bounce around your skies
Beside the lonesome absence of your face
I gaze in joy upon your eyes
Despite my aching human mind
I rise

Timothy Work

It has been awhile since I posted, so take it easy on me guys.  I will be away at work all weekend, so if I don't reply to your replies at fist, don't worry I will.  Am anxious to get back to critiquing some of the other work also; I have missed it.  Been so busy, it has been hard to find the time to write.  I didn't want to neglect you guys.  Thank you all and God bless

-Tim

Joyce - Thank you so much, the desire to write with the combination of my busy schedule is driving me insane.  Your response sincerely justifies me devoting my time to the craft.  God bless you.

Trillium - You made my day.  I feel myself growing so much as a writer.  I hope the rest of the suff I produce is as accepted by you as this one.  God bless.

DelSol - It's so nice to see new people posting and sharing blessings (not that I am really a veteran around here or anything).  I am looking forward to reading your work.  God bless you.

Mistletoe - I am glad to hear from you.  Your responses are always so developed and caring.  I am glad you enjoyed it and thank you.  God bless.

Tim it was just wonderful to see your name on the list today, and I enjoyed this so much.  Summer has a way of slowing down the writing we do, and that's okay - it means life is getting in the way.  Happy summer to you.

Marge - That still small voice inside is everything, and yet we tend to ignore it at times.  I thank you for your reply, and I am glad you enjoyed my poem, God bless you.

Mysteria - I am glad to be back.  You are right "my life" gets in the way of a lot of creative venues I have been working on, but I am bound and determined to write.  You will see more of my work.  I am glad you enjoy it. Thanx & God bless.

Thanx - Tim

Very nice poem, and a very real experience for so many of us. Thanks.  It is fitting that your poem's message is summed up beautifully in your signature verse.

Another word of thanks ... As a very new member who is concerned about having/making the time to participate, knowing that you're having the same conflicts but overcoming them is a blessing and an encouragement. It's no "accident" that your poem is one of the first two I've read!

God's continued blessings to you.

I'm sorry my mind is really scattered right now, but what I caught from your poem I did enjoy.  And your signature is pretty nice.
