God's Wonders

I need no proof that God exists;
I have Book with his word.
That I should ask for any more
Is patently absurd.
Do I not have the eyes to see
His wonders all around?
No man-sought proof could ever be
As astonishing as sound.

Amazing sight and touch and smell,
I got these all by chance?
Oh no, God has provided them,
His bounty to enhance.
One little flower is more proof
Than any man should need.
That it could come by happenstance
Is fallacy indeed.

Not one of man's inventions could
Have evolved by itself.
Why do we treat God's wonders
As ordinary pelf?
It took intelligence and artistry
Beyond the ken of man;
To envision the earth's beauty
In a perfected plan.
Evolution is but changes
God makes in his first plan.
He refines his first creations
For betterment of man.

For anythng new to arise,
God must first make the seed.
Man never has learned to do that;
For me that's proof indeed.

amen to this
So very beautiful!

I once did the Gideon thing and asked God for proof, knowing I shouldn't...
He gave it to me.. I think that made me more upset!

So true that we can do nothing without God. Certainly, God's wonders are all about us and evident and it is a most wonderful thing indeed as you have expressed here to be blessed to have our senses in tact so that we can experience them each and every day and with each and every day from us may God be given the Glory!!! (Amen) A beautiful poem that, for me, gives Glory to whom Glory is certainly due. Thank you so very much and God bless you.

Oh but I loved that entire stanza, and believe it or not, I see this inside of a card and can envision the art on the front.  Beautiful Joyce.

This reminds me of one of my favorate songs:

"Morning sun, light of creation
Grassy fields of velvet flow
Silver clouds, a shimmering curtain
He's designed a perfect world"

I see Creation as music... music doesn't just pop up and say "Hi.. I used to be mud and now I'm music".. music is written and re-written until it is as perfect as the Ode to Joy or the Requiem...

Oh, make me Thine forever
And should I fainting be
Lord, let me never ever
Outlive my love for Thee

I was wondering, are you saying that God used evolution as part of his plan?

Nice Sentiment and Message. To not believe in God you would have to spend your entire existence alone in a cave somewhere. And even then you could find some proof. Maybe in your desire to remain alive.
Thanks for sharing this.

What a wonderful tribute to our Creator. He who envisioned the world as he would have liked to be before sin came. And you have only to see it by looking at the birds, the fish, the beasts and especially human beings. We are wonderfully and fearfully made.
What a very lovely poem, thank you for sharing Joyce.

Many blessings to you, Jenny

Joyce - I am so glad to be back to the "Spiritual" section where I belong.  I truly do find you to be an astonishing poet with great vision and insight into creative thought.  I thoroughly enjoyed this poem as I have all of your stuff.  It is amazing just how creative and artistic God has been, something we can never duplicate.

God bless you & thank you - Tim

Very lovely, Joyce. I thoroughly enjoyed this poem! I was just outside a few minutes ago, looking at the flowers that decorate our yard and marvelling at the tiger swallowtail I got a glimpse of. We certainly have a wonderful God!
