Thank You For My
Soldier

Thank you for your warm hugs have helped me ease the chill
of knowing that my soldier will climb up one more hill.
Thank you for your sweetness and thank you for your smiles
have helped me know my soldier can keep on walking miles.
Thank you for your prayers. They’re appreciated. Everyone,
I know that they are being heard though I can’t hear my son.

I can’t hear him in his bunker
as he kneels his head to pray.
I can’t hear him on his ship deck
as he’s working through his day.
I can’t hear him in his battle
As his shattered nerves are frayed.
I can’t hear him over Baghdad
as his bombs drop on their way.
I can’t hear him as he’s walking
through the dust storm’s blinding gray.
I can’t hear him counting bodies
as gun fire’s gone astray.
Yes, he knows that I can’t hear him
for he’s much too far away,
but I do know that our God has heard
every word that you and I have prayed
and that is why I can rely
that my son is safe today...
...and to you this message I relay;

“Thank You” for my soldier.

-Lighthouse Bob

Written for my son and for my soldier Jeramiah Michaud.

I know that it's too late and I have had too many already accepted into the book, but I am adding this poem to be accepted anyway because this poem means so very very much to me. God bless you and God bless each and every soldier. (Amen)

Well Bob, I not only am proud to be voting for this extremely well written poem, but I vote because it is a Father to a son, any Father to any son, and certainly a wonderful poem from you as a Father, to your son.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Robert, this is so beautifully heartfelt, dearest friend, God Bless You and Jermiah as he truly is being guided by Him right now and is shining light and strength his way so he can come home safely to you! (wipes tears) I truly hope this gets in the book though only a few days remain I think for voting, this is wonderful, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Robert, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Hi LighthouseBob
Thank God for Fathers' and Sons, it is a blessing to be a Mother or Father, it is a lot of worry and prayer. Your son,
Jeremiah, will be in my prayers.
I would miss your poem if it wasn't added to the book.

Bob, when your son CAN hear you?
Will you please let him know for me...

Thank you.

Thank you for keeping your country safe.
For leaving us to sleep at night,
for leaving us our land of free...
for bringing wrongs into the light...
for blessing this, our own country...
for keeping well our families.

I think  this needs to be in the book so that it will stand as a reminder of those heroes out there who are fighting in the name of freedom. May we never forget to honor them and raise our voices in prayer for their safe keeping.

Love reading all these great writes.

May he arrive back home to you safe and full of hugs for you, as I can tell from your poem, you miss him, and love him very much. Thanks for sharing such a touching poem, I hope it makes it into Reflections.

Thank you everyone for your prayers and for your words of encouragement and support that you have expressed toward me and my son here on this posting. I do thank God that I have, now, heard from my son after over three years of silence. He is stationed on the aircraft carrier Constellation and is expected to arrive back to its home base of San Diego in about a month or so. I do look forward to seeing him once again after so very very long of a separation. God bless you and again thank you so very very much for all of your most positive and encouraging comments, bumps, high spirited support and prayers.
