Poem Title-Opreation Freedom Iraq
Author-Annette J. Kimmel
Date - 3-30-03

This poem It is one in which I gave a lot of thought process to because it is a sensitive subject to my heart and as well many I realize. My views on the war I must admit are some what mixed, but do know this for sure, " I  100 % Support our troops bravely serving our Armed Forces. I especially support all  those bravely fighting this war,  in their plight of Operation Freedom Iraq. God bless them, the Coalition, and God bless the USA!

Let us pray for their safe return, for the families of those  bravely sacrificing themselves in this war.

I hope you enjoy this poem and find understanding in it for the question 'Why?"

Operation Iraqi Freedom
Annette J.Kimmel
~Black Hawk down here we go,  Hello Vietnam~
Another War Oh God No~~
What have we just begun?
"Shock and Awe A new kind of war "
What reason this war Oh Why?                    Terrorism on the rise,  911 opened our eyes  Weapons of War Mass Destruction
Suspect Iraqi's Regime
Preempted strikes an alliance formed  Coalition forces teamed
"Operation Freedom Iraq"
The reason were fighting this war          Deliberation Iraqi citizens
A gateway Liberty's door ~
We say good-bye and send them off The battlefields Baghdad
Brave young solders, watch your bac Take them down real bad
Engaging evil, Saddam's Elite, his own Republican Guards
Hidden faces masked
Alkeida, mob like gorillas at large
A  war of might a fight for will ,
Saddam's Regime the kill-
Rooting rats their stinking sewers,
Foxes snatched at will.
Disciplined Warriors kicking but
Republican Guards a blow
Onward march into battle,
Baghdad's evil will go
~War is hell never easy , some will even die ,
I shudder the thought they  be my own, taken from my side
All the tears we'll have to shed, numerous body bags,
On what soil will they lay, will we get them back?
~The Axis of Evil, quail it we shall, "The Eyes of March" at hand
911 woke us up , the sands we take our stand!
The devil's garden a force to be reckoned
We're taking that bastard down!             Forty-nine Nations coming together,
Cries for freedom abound
Never forget the heart of war, the ultimate sacrifice
Men and women bravely serving, Say a prayer their plight!

May God watch over the Coalition
God Bless Us All  God Bless America

You have captured the mixed feelings we all have.  Before it started my poems were against the war.  Now that it is in progress my poetry has changed direction.  Love, Joyce

Nice job Annette, We must never forget those who are giving the ultimate sacrifice very day for our freedom. It is not hard to understand why. When we are sacrificing for freedom and the " evil axis " is fighting for human suppression and domination. We all know that the true God knows the difference. Our God of love and compassion. God Bless!!

(big hugggssssssss) Just to let you know, I do support the troops with all my heart, and though I remain heavily against the whole war and those who brought the war into progress and wish for them to be removed from power soon, I shall pray for protection of all those down there! (wipes tears) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Annette, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

I tried not to comment on the war but couldn't hold this back...This is everyone's war, and if people would only realize that suppression of any kind has to be stopped whichever way is necessary.

I can see the thought you put into this and commend you for its sensitivity, and directness as well.  You covered it all, and then some, but in the end, this is what is important and you said it, "God bless them, the Coalition, and God bless the USA!" Stand behind your troops and those that lead them should be on buttons.  Oh this gets my vote.

Thank you for this, I do believe that more of us support the troops as do not. We are so lucky to live in this country, that's for sure.

You've captured the war terminology very well here and so you must have done your homework on this one for certain. You have a unique way of structuring your sentences together here and I do appreciate your kick butt expressed enthusiasm as if written from a true warrior. I do have a son who is or was serving on the Constellation and so I do appreciate greatly your rallying here for prayer and for support for our sons and daughters who serve most bravely and most diligently in our armed forces. Yes, may God watch over the Coalition and God bless us All and God bless America and God bless You my poet friend. (Amen) Good job and here's my vote for your poem.
