Extra Celestials

As your mighty giant floats to rest beyond the farthest sight
I escape to the highest knoll of grass and gather up your night
You grace me with a thousand winks that wisp across the wind
I drift away to chase my soul as I call to you my friend

In amazement I dwell upon the depths and colors of your art
but you tell me to wait for answers far too big for an infant heart
I ask of worlds and skies of others that might be staring up as I
and search the vastness with my eyes, for movement in the skies

Imagination stretches, pulls and drinks up bold requests
as a descending gift of dreamer's light twinkles down below the rest
My soul stretches up to rest within it's warm igniting glow
and feel a glimpse of heaven's reach, a touch upon my soul

As the twinkling winks of crossing time creep above my mind
a humble swelling of grace inside slows down all breath and time
A realization of my size within your hands brings more wonder and good fear
Your closeness holds my intense desire and brings my eyes to hold good tears

In amazement I worship here alone, just you and I
as you promise the answers to my dreams that lay inside the sky
For now I'll rest here upon the shaded green and hold you strong within
and dream about the exciting times that I shall share with you my friend

Thank you all - this poem is a reflection of the many personal times that I had alone with our father as a young adolescent.  I have found as I grow older it becomes more difficult to maintain that close unconditional friendship that I hold so dear and learned to appreciate when I was very young.

Joyce - your response means so much to me as I deeply respect your work and opinion; thank you dearly.

Angel - I find sometimes the greatest joy of writing is in the title of the work, and thank you.

Noah - your words always bring such refreshing words of grace and love, I can feel his light living within your comments always.  Thank you.

Ethel - this is the first poem that I have marked for submission. It will be interesting to see what happens.  Thank you.

BSC - I have always found the Lord resting with me in nature, and under his great sky just brings me closer to how big he is.  I love the sky, which I believe you will find evident in a large portion of my works.  Thank you and God bless you.

Dear Timothy,
It is like stars that twinkle upon my tongue when I read this poem. I believe you to be a gifted poet.  I read a few lines and my lips eagerly anticipated forming each word in each wonderful line thereafter.  Thank you.  Your poem is timeless. I consider you a teacher of great poetry.  A must for a poetry book to be a great poetry book.

Whipporwill -

I have felt a common spirit with you as I have read your works.  I know I still have a lot to learn about poetry and to veiw myself as an educator of such is almost humorous to me.  You are greatly appreciated and I am looking forward to reading more of your work also.  Thank you and God bless.

What a beautiful submission shared with us here at Spiritual and most hopefully your poem will also be shared with others as well in the coming book. I love how you express to us here this special time between you and your Creator sharing a most intimate moment under the expanse of His Glorious creation. I like how you give your readers room to expand their own imaginations by using such words as mighty giant, thousand winks, and dreamer's light to describe the Celestials found in the sky... It does hold the curiosity in tact as to whether you actually did see something more Extra Celestial than Celestial. Anyway, a Great submission to the book, I think, and it gives me Great joy and pleasure to see you submitting (more ways than one) and to vote for your poem. God bless.
