( This was my prayer when I sent my own beloved son to the Viet Nam War.I post it for all distraught mothers.)

In Your Care

Lord, since you put him in my care,
There was no time I wasn't there,
When he would turn in need to me;
No matter what that need might be.

As helpless infant to young man,
I did all that a mother can
To feed his body, mind and soul.
I did my best to keep him whole.

Now it is time to let him go,
He's off to fight a dangerous foe.
This boy who's only shot a ball,
Is answering his country's call.

My love goes with him all the way
And now I turn to you today.
Please hear my brokenhearted plea,
Watch over my loved son for me.

I'd give my life, you know I would
To save my dear son if I could.
You gave your son, you understand.
Please keep him safely in your hand.

This is powerful and I can feel its sincerity. It hit me in a bit of a different way though, as my mom left the house when I was six. You show a true mother's love, so precious.

Joyce this is a wonderful prayer for all those sent to war.
It's obvious it was written from you're tender heart.

It's most comforting to know that even in these most extreme of times when our sons and daughters lifes are at stake that God still understands. Thank you for sharing your Mother's prayer and your loving words of comfort with us here. God bless.

Joyce -
After reading this poem I do believe I understand your heart much better.  God bless you and God bless all of the mothers and fathers of our brave soldiers of freedom.  Beautiful.

Joyce,
Words spoken from a true Mother.  I believe you to be a Mother to all boys in heart and soul.  As I am. My son is not at war but I worry for each boy at war whose bravery unsurpasses their innocent hearts. Thanks
In the Spirit, Whippoorwill
