Tis the night before Christmas;
and all through the house,
are memories of Paul
and Christmases past.
These memories are all
I have now
for he is in Heaven
with Jesus, content
and happy, Wow!

Some day soon
I will travel that dark road
that Paul travelled on May 7th
and take Jesus' hand
and wend my way
to him in Heaven.

Oh what a glorious day
that will be
to see my Savior and my hubby
to spend eternity.

So  heart of mine
try not to be sad
for Jesus and Paul
are watching over you
and wants you to be glad.

Santa, No! Jesus, Yes!

This is a lovely poem Mom. I remember that first Christmas without Paul, how empty the house felt. But we can rejoice in that one day we will see him again. Thanks for sharing this with everyone here. It's a keeper

Thanks for the encouragement. But one poem in 70 years is not a very good record. And of course being my daughter may make you a bit biased.

Better one good and heart felt one than many bad poems.  Enjoyed your out look.  Joyce

Hi niftywidow,

The road is really not dark and Paul wishes that he could tell you so. God bless.

Thanks everyone for such kind words. Poetry does not come to me as easy as it does others. But who knows maybe I will have another revelation before I go home to be with Jesus.

Hi,
This is an absolutely beautiful collection of heart felt feelings. I'm sorry for your loss.  My oldest son was killed in a car accident at 18.  Although I am sad, I know he is happy, joyous and free.  And when I'm called home I will be free.
Thanks
In the spirit, Whippoorwill

Thanks Whippoorwill for your kind words. I am sorry about your son. It is not easy to lose a loved one. But God gives the Grace to get through it each day. God Bless you

I agree, quite lovely.  Thank you for sharing.  Uplifting but expressing sorrow at the same time.  I am sorry for your loss.  May you and yours find peace.

(YAY!!!) Welcome to Passions and to Spiritual Journeys!!!
Though this poem is primarily a Christmas poem, I believe that
this poem holds promise all year through. Your poem here is
a wonderful poem that is full of sentiment, truth and Great Joy!!!
What wonderful promise do we have that one day we will be
reunited with our loved ones and with our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ. (Amen) I loved the words of wisdom, also, found
at the end of your poem.... Not Santa, but Jesus!!! So True!!!
Again, Loved your poem and Welcome to Passions.
