A Mother's Touch

On a path filled with onlookers
a man is forced to walk alone

A crown of thorns on his brow
shows his pain

Human sins as a wooden cross
weigh heavy on his back

Dark clouds begin to gather for all to see
the fate of a man who will die for you and me

A mother laden with sorrow reaches out
to comfort her son

She knows his father will welcome him
when his sacrifice is done

Her touch is soft and gentle to his skin
letting him know he is not the one who sinned

Welcome to Spiritual Journeys and I think that your poem will make a welcome addition to the anthology. A wonderful tribute here written, I believe, in remembrance of Mother Mary and the ultimate sacrifice by the only One (Her Son) who ever lived free from sin and now offers a sin free life to us all through Him. Good job.

Just right for the Lenten season.

Lest we forget His mother who suffered right beside Him in Calvary.

And here's my vote, too.

Awesome!  It is very vivid in description.  I could actually see what you were writing.  I'm sure He would be proud.
