Giving Thanks

The birds decided it was spring
And so, they all began to sing!
A thousand voices filled the skies,
Just as the sun began to rise.
I stepped outside to smell the air.
The chorus kept me standing there.
A sweet beginning to the day,
I stayed until it died away
And as the hours fled, I found
I still recalled the joyous sound.
Birds in every form and feather,
Giving thanks for spring, together!

well it just rains here all through spring... but I love the rain
He certainly does deserve thanks.. and so much more... worship, praise, honor.. our hearts and lives! Was just reading Job, thanks for the reminder to give thanks   the Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the LORD!

Betty, I keep hoping and hoping I'll get up one morning and Spring will be here. It came awfully close yesterday, but today, more snow!

I enjoyed this very much.  Marti

Everything you write is so lyrically lovely~

It was warm as toast here today ... the birds were gathering materials for their nesting condos~

Mysteria:  I agree, even though we have had the mildest winter on record, the skies ar still gray, it's cool and wet!  I'm more than ready for the new season.  Thanks for reading.

Marti:  The bird song is wonderful now in the early morning, but it's so gray and wet, I wonder that they can sing like that. Guess they know it's just a matter of time and sunny days will be here.  I'm impatient I know!  Thanks.

Hi,
I love poems that rhyme!
Spring, a short, but way cool time of the year.  I am a desert dweller so I experience summer (hot summer) most of the year. Winter here is our spring. Thanks for the birds, helps remind me of gifts to be grateful for. I have so many, reminds me of a poem, LOL
Thanks for the uplifting,  Whippoorwill

This is beautiful Betty.  My electricity has been off since Wednesday evening.  I am just back on and so happy to get back to my friends.  We had a catastrophic windstorm. Love, Joyce

Whippoorwill:  Thanks so much for writing and happy that you wnjoyed the poem. There are times in the winter months here....Northern Idaho.....that I would gladly move to the desert of Arizona.  However, the other three seasons of the year, are delightful!

Cindi:  Thanks for your response.  Yes, we are finally seeing signs of spring, although this has been a very mild winter and I shouldn't complain about it.

Dear Joyce:  Glad you are back and sorry about the wind storm.  Hope it didn't do any damage at your place.  We have been having strong winds here too, and one day we did lose power for awhile but nothing like the west side I know.

Thanks for your comments.

Noah:  Thank you for the lovely picture. We will have trilliums blooming in our woods next month and they are a joyful sight. some of the spring birds have returned and we see trumpeter swans passing through, who rest on the lake.  It's a great time of year!
