Only God's Way

Not he, nor you nor I can claim
to have first rights to God.
He calls Him by another name;
to us that name is odd.
There is one God and only one,
He's there for one and all.
In any language, any name
He hears a dear child's call.
Don't call on Him and then return
a deaf, uncaring ear.
You cannot change his answer to
the one you want to hear.
May all our voices raise at once,
To plead we're spared from war.
We've done that, tried that, know that
War only leads to more.

Leaders who listen to the words
of a mad persuasion,
cannot be sure they're choosing right,
without God in equation.
We heard a deep debate today
on our own TV screens,
on how much torture is too much
to justify the means.
I listened to them with horror;
it's time for me to speak.
To save the life of me or mine,
don't make that prisoner shriek.
The Geneva treaty stated
torture can't be the way.
I know countries have ignored this.
Please!!! Not the USA.
