Only God's Way Not he, nor you nor I can claim to have first rights to God. He calls Him by another name; to us that name is odd. There is one God and only one, He's there for one and all. In any language, any name He hears a dear child's call. Don't call on Him and then return a deaf, uncaring ear. You cannot change his answer to the one you want to hear. May all our voices raise at once, To plead we're spared from war. We've done that, tried that, know that War only leads to more. Leaders who listen to the words of a mad persuasion, cannot be sure they're choosing right, without God in equation. We heard a deep debate today on our own TV screens, on how much torture is too much to justify the means. I listened to them with horror; it's time for me to speak. To save the life of me or mine, don't make that prisoner shriek. The Geneva treaty stated torture can't be the way. I know countries have ignored this. Please!!! Not the USA. "Not he, nor you nor I can claim to have first rights to God." I am captivited by the entire piece but here is one thing so many seem to take for granted or not understand. Excellent work Joyce. Thank you. |

I believe a very emotional and truth stated poem here. I think as you have written here that it is a must that we include God in the equation if we, be it ourselves or other nations, are to make the correct choices. Personally, I don't, can't, and will never believe that torture of another human being, no matter what name God may go by or no matter what culture one may belong or no matter what standard of morality one believes, should be, or could be, or can ever be justified by any human or godly means. (Amen) I think that your poem here is very well stated and I too pray that we are all spared from the tragedy of pending war. God bless. -Bob |

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Joyce, this is so very true, sweet friend, I think politics are filled with clueless cowards who wish to play God and they seem to forsake God from the equation and it troubles me to see Bush and others dictating and I only pray we can look to Him and avoid doing this ridiculous war! (sad sigh) This is powerful, sweet friend, I love the courage and strength here, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Joyce, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Joyce, I hope the whole world hears your cry to take God to heart. We cannot do anything alone and only He can hear our pleas. Hugs ... Marti |

Don't call on Him and then return a deaf, uncaring ear. I did not hear the debate of which you spek, but I love your poem, especially the above lines! Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

Joyce - good poem. I hope I will not be judged on these posts when you all find out I am a conservative and believe our President is a strong faithed God fearing man. I do not know of the debates you refer to and would like to know more about it. Sorry about that, ... Joyce it was beautifully written, and God bless you.. No, I'm not against the president as you will see if you read my answer to some of Allan's poems. I am against war and I think humans in general have not done enough to outlaw it. I wrote many, many poems about the hunt for the terrorists and I think we have done a good job of that they have to be obliterated, but we should not take innocent people with them. But I do think we should let the inspectors do their job and and try every means before resorting to war. I'd like to see all countries with good guys at their helm but that is not ours to do. The Debate, I suppose should have said discussion was on The Today Show after that last big terrorist was caught. And the topic was how much is too much torture to achieve our ends. My fear is not for the tortured if we decided to, but with the lowering ourselves to their standards. That's just not my good old Uncle Sam whom I love. Joyce |

Great write Joyce. I too think that the President is a man of strong and good faith. I also believe that there is just so much we don't know and will never know. We are fed so much and then the 'spoon' is pulled away and we are never completely filled and our imaginations and fears run rampant and we are left empty of the knowledge of what really is, always hungry and needing more. |

Hi, Yes, only Gods' way. It is a comfort to know that. You have said it well. If only the world knew that. Thanks Whippoorwill |

Wow, that is really thought-provoking. I never thought that it would end in such a way, but it was very interesting how it did. Excellent development and quite free of any cliches, very original. I'd love to read more of your works! |
