Before I Make a Sound

Good morning Father
I approach your mercy
my face upon the ground
Another day I ask for grace
before I make a sound

Forgive me Lord
for I have been
undeserving of this time
Help me to be a light
with strength and giving shine

Touch me God
as I touch the world
that follows me each day
Hold my clumsy tongue
until you give me things to say

Be with me
as I step from this slumber
and explore abundant grace
Walk with me and navigate
as I wander forward through the race

Deliver joy
to my fading heart
Glow from within my soul
Pull from me this aching heart
and fill me with your control

Amen.

As soon as my printer is working I'd like to put this on my ceiling so I really do pray this.. before I make a sound. Would that be ok with you? I really love this.
Its so important to come before the Lord, humbly, every day, as we rise.

(sigh) Penitence is a wonderful method in embracing God, to ask for forgiveness from guilts and heartaches and this is a wonderful prayer in seeking it! (big hugggsssss) It's all there at the tip of your tongue, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Timothy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

God Bless you all,
I'm off to work in a minute, but I had to com eonline and see if I had any responses.  I was really kind of afriad to see the ones for this poem; it is a little bit more simple than most of my work.  I am glad you enjoyed it.

Thank you so much, this will make my day go so much beter, as this prayer also does.

Just as a helpful note here, if you ever need to edit your poem or reply after the fact you can do so by clicking the    icon just above your post. As far as the content of your poem is concerned, although I do write both, I do like simple and easy in which I can relate to poetry. I felt that this was a very humble morning prayer to God and a most wonderful way to begin your day.  Though we may take it for granted, each day is a wonderful gift from God and it is most impossible to know for certain all that God has done for us to protect us and to guide us and walk with us through each and every passing day.  Just a beautiful poem/prayer to remind me of how very very good God truly is to us. (Amen) Thank you and God bless you.

GG- I am so glad you enjoyed my poem.  Print away; the thought that something I wrote could bless you or maybe help start your day with the Lord is incredible.

Joyce & Deb - Thank you for your comments.  This is not one of my favorite poems, and was reluctant to post it, but it still means a lot to me.  God bless you both.

Noah - You always have such a great way of responding and it is always a blessing for me, when you post a reply on my poems.  Thank you very much.

Bob - You of all people have been a great help as I am slowly, ever so slowly, learning about this posting stuff.  Thank you so much for the editing advice; I was trying to figure that out.  Thanks man - Tim

Hi, All I can say is Amen. Great!
I read this poem to my sister in arkansas. She actually said she needed this poem. We cry a lot from sheer joy that God loves us.

I have also printed this poem and today of all days, I couldn't have read a more appropriate prayer, and for that, I truly thank you. Amen

Hold my clumsy tongue

Wow, amazing poem.  That is my favourite line.  I really have that problem, I always say the wrong thing and words come out of my mouth jumbled, not in the right order and not making any sense at all.  I agree so much to the whole prayer.  I will for sure keep it and read it often.  Thank you.

Thank you for your response.  I have not posted for a while now and was so  happy to see a new response to an old post.  I have been going through some difficult soul searching lately and could use your prayers.  I hope to be posting again soon.  Thank you and God Bless you - Tim

We should all ask for such things. I really like the format of this one as well. What a beautiful prayer!

Oh, make me Thine forever
And should I fainting be
Lord, let me never ever
Outlive my love for Thee

Amazing!! This poem yet simple is absolutely astounding. It reminds me that even a silent prayer to God makes all the difference and, that it does not matter how short or long a prayer is as long as it comes from the heart. Thank you for sharing this prayer with me for it truly does touch my heart and makes a hugh impact on the  way I will start my day.
