My homeland is not of the world

0 posted 2003-02-27 08:33 PM

While on my way to school today I saw a dark cloud that seemed to be spreading itself across the morning sky.  It got me thinking, and inspired me to write this.  It's not all that great.  I think I have to work with the begining and the overall flow.

The Storm
by,
James

A storm comes
To over come
What the Lord has said

Acting nice
It laid the ice
Making sure we slid

Blamming Christ
We rolled the dice
But never will we win

Because it lure
us to forget the cure
For the snake eyes of our sin

It makes us blind
To the divine
Capturing our soul

Shadowing our lives
With endless lies
It acomplishes it's only goal

But we can be made to see
And formed to be
The children of the Lord

And with the Lord by our side
The storm will subside
And our souls will be restored.

"They do not love that do not show their love.”-Shakespeare

YAY!!! So glad to read another poem from you.... I love the quick snappy lines and the message here is awesome. Sometimes our best poems are the ones that we write the quickest before we have time to analyze, criticize, break them down and finally make a mess out of them. This is a Great poem. I agree with you and your poem that the endless lies of Satan are like a storm that clouds our minds from God's truth. I asked for a poem above in my post without realizing that you had already posted... WOW!!! Isn't God Good and FAST too. God bless and don't be a stranger... Stranger than me anyway.

lol
Thanks for the replies everyone.
Yeah, isn't that like God.  Faster than we could dream of, and surely greater too.  May all your blessings outnumber the stars of the sky and the sands of the earth.  God is with us always
