The Way, the Truth, and the Life

If I rose up from the ashes,
Should I wear a golden crown?
If I took but forty lashes,
Should a joy within be found?
If I gained a kingdom's treasure,
Should my riches be in vain?
If my good deeds were all measured,
Should I wither from the pain?

No other Way, but Jesus,
No other Truth abounds,
No other Life could satisfy
Like this life I have found.

If I took the wings of morning
And I rose up to the stars
Or I touched the face of Hades
And I marveled at his scars,
If I overcame all Powers
And a Ruler I should be,
Still that would not be proof enough
To turn my heart from Thee.

No other Way, but Jesus,
No other Truth abounds,
No other Life could satisfy
Like this life I have found.

Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

This Poem is excellent!

Thank you so much for this poem; it really spoke to me.  It's so great to  find a place like this forum where I can find people with the same spirit and drive to write as I have.

God's Girl,

I was hoping for an "Amen" on this one!!! How very astute of you. Thanks my friend.

Say, how did your youth night turn out speaking 'codswallop' and all???

Noah,

I'm glad that to you my poetry displays such fervency of love and soul for both are very important to me as are your most tender replies. Thank you.

LoveBug,

Wow!!! What can I say... this really is some Great reply.  I do pray that the Lord makes a way for poems that bring honor and praise to Him and inspires others to do the same to have a special place in this book as well. (Amen)

Bridgette,

(Big Smiles) I am so happy to see your name here in our little corner of Passions!!! You write beautiful 'Spiritual' poetry my friend and I know that you are very busy, but I do hope that if you can find some extra time... (Hehe)...that you might share some of your talent here with us. Pretty Please!!! ...I am happy for this time though, if not. God bless and thanks once again for your vote.

Tim,

You are very Welcome my new found Christian poet friend!!! I must say that your excitement here is quite catchy... It is indeed wonderful to find a camaraderie with other poets who have similar interests as our own. Thank you for your vote and again Welcome.

Enchantress,

I always know that you are lurking in the shadows here at Spiritual and it thrills my heart when you emerge with your words of approval.  Thanks so much my friend.

SPIRIT,

As I have been as of late, you have been one busy lady with your posting book worthy poetry. My prayers for publication are with us both. (Amen)

Trillium,

Thank you!!! I think too that it would make a nice addition to be read.

Hi Jason,

Thank you. Let me assure you, my friend, that if there is anything that you view from my pen that is perfect... it can only be the Lord. (Amen) Thank your for all of your kind responses. I do appreciate them all.

Mysteria,

(OMG) Wouldn't that be just Fantastic!!! I can just imagine a whole section or a whole book devoted to just 'Spiritual' poetry.
WOW!!! You've really filled my mind with some sweet thought here. It would be great if everyone in 'Spiritual' had a poem represent them in the new book. You are such a visionary my friend. I love it!!

GG (God's Girl),

So Happy that 'Youth Night' went well. (YAY!!!) Strange???? As the song goes.... We may not be cool, but that's OK, our God loves us anyway!!!! (Amen) Thanks for stopping back in and letting me know how things went.

hoot_owl_rn,

(Yipeeeee!!!) Another BIG Surprise and another wonderful "AMEN" received. (Thank you) Thank you so very very much for stopping by and for your kind reply and God Bless You my poet friend.

Joyce Johnson,

No you didn't miss this one, my friend, but You did discover it. (Big Smiles) You were the first to respond and the one who requested that I add this poem to the list. I did so, at your request, and this poem has had a most favorable response. I believe that you have a wonderful sensitivity to the Spirit, my friend. That's what I think!!! God bless you and again thank you so very very much.

Charisma,

Another nice surprise. "Simply the Truth!" How Sweet is your reply, but should I expect anything less from a flower??? (Smiles) Again, I thank, my poet friend, you for stopping in to visit and for your sweet reply. God bless you.

Paul Wilson,

Knowing very well that your heart is, in full strength, focused upon our Lord and Savior, from the bottom of my humble heart, you are very very Welcome. As you would surely say here, my friend, I do want to be an encouragement to others. Thanks again and God continue to bless you.

aries_luv_ppl,

(Big Smiles) So glad to see your name here again.... Thank you for stopping by to vote, but even if you didn't I would have still loved just hearing from you. Thanks again, my friend, and God bless you and keep you. PS. Remember; You are very very special.........

Larry C,

Thanks Larry.... Glad that I didn't scare you off to bad, but I do look forward to those oldies, but most assuredly goodies.... Please!!! Thanks, my friend, for voting and God bless.

the_jazzician,

YAY!!! Thanks, my Internet Christian pal.... It's real good to hear from you too and you are right on here, my friend, Jesus truly is the Only. (Amen) Thanks for letting me know that you're still around and for your vote. God bless you and keep you in His care. Always.

NewEnglandlazurlu,

Thank you!!! From my perspective, I am very satisfied that many people have already read my poem, but I also agree, like you, I know that God's vision, many times, is much higher than my own. (Amen) Like you said, my life, my poem, my all is truly in His hands. Again, thank you for your very special reply.

Encarta,

Thanks a lot!!!! Your vote means a lot to me. I know it's a little late, but I never got back to you about your reading my poem of which you gave me the format and I just want to say that I'm glad that you liked it. I hope that you'll be back to inspire us with more of your poetry. God bless and thanks again.

Nan,

Thank you Nan!!! You're not only a poetry mentor, but a poetry friend and that means so very much to me as I am sure it does to many others. God bless and again thank you.

Hi,
'No other way but Jesus' Yes, there is no other way. My gradsons are here for a visit and I'm teaching them to sing 'no other way but Jesus'. Just one line but a powerful one.
Now they look at me and sing that line and my heart loves and loves and loves.  I will teach them about Jesus.  Thank you for your beautiful poem and sharing your gift.

mysticpoe,

Welcome to Spiritual Journeys and I thank you for your very inspiring comment. God Bless.

Mysteria,

What a wonderful thing to tell a poet... and especially a Christian poet whose desire it is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ... My friend, even if a little bit of Christ like wisdom rubs off on others as it is rubbed a bit on me that would be a most fabulous thing for sure. (Amen) Thanks again.

littlewing,

Thank you so very much. As I have read of you that you have a very strong and uplifting spirit as well, I do consider this to be a most admirable compliment. God bless and I do hope that you'll be back to visit.

VAS,

Thank you and you are a most 'WONDERFUL' support to me. God bless.

Ratleader,

(Big Passionate Smiles) Thank You!!!!

Whippoorwill,

WOW!!! That is marvelous!!! Teach the children when they are young... so when they grow older to maturity, they will not depart from those marvelous truths that they have been taught in their youth. Oh, may they always have a spirit of child like faith and a heart full of song. No Other Way but Jesus!!! (Smiles) I'm Still singing it today!!! God bless you and thank you for sharing this most precious experience in your life.

Well my friend ... I imagine you already knew that with my return that I would most assuredly come looking for some of your works and I have to say, this is on exceptional piece and a lovely song of not only praise but one filled with a message of truth in every single line.  It has a flow that brings a smile when reading it, the cadence is one that makes you want to sing even when reading it silently and the words ... well they speak for themselves as well as the heart and soul of the poet.  Well done my friend and of course you have my vote on this one for sure.  May you continue to have God's blessings upon you in each step you take.

You are such an inspiration. I have searched for a place to share about God with believers for a while. I go from crying to bursting with love from reading such moving poems such as this one.
I believe I was led by God and am forever grateful.  This is my second reply but again, I just couldn't help myself. Thank you

skyshine,

Thank you for your kind words.  I do believe so very much that these words are very true and it is such a blessing to read that you think so also. Thank you.

garysgirl,

Thank you so much for you "Amens!!!" It is wonderful for me to know that we are in agreement. Thank you and God bless you.

BSC,

Thank you for your Amens. It does appear to me that your desire here was met and who knows, perhaps, it was your very vote that put my poem into the "accepted" category to be included in the book. (YAY!!!) I am so very pleased that your desire was met and that you enjoyed my poem and that you will now be able to read it as often as you like. God bless you my friend.

Mark Bohannan

As you must know, I am very happy to see your name here responding to this poem. I wasn't going to submit this poem, but at the request of a fellow poet I did. I am very very happy that this particular poem made the book because I do think that this poem is a wonderful representation of the poems that I truly do love to write. Just a quick poetic verse from my heart. (Amen) I agree with your very acute ear here that many of the poems that I write are simply melodies or songs that God shares with me that I feel so deeply that I need to share with and to uplift and to encourage others as others have uplifted and encouraged me through their given talents. I would like to say that your poetry has challenged me and has mentored me to do the very thing which I truly love to do and for that I am very very grateful. Thank you for sharing your talent here with us my friend and again may God continue to bless you and your talent.

Whippoorwill,

I do believe, my friend, that we do most assuredly share a camaraderie here in your expressed beliefs in that I too believe that this forum is a God given blessing and a most special opportunity for us as Christian poets to share with others and to encourage one another in the way, the truth, and the life. I do appreciate your expressed emotion here as well and I must admit that I also find myself bursting at the seams as it were
with a myriad of emotions and have also found such wonderful inspiration from these pages as you have said. Thank you again my friend.
