Cry of the Unprepared

My good father, where am I on this day
This self inflicted soul ponders, wonders
But aches to give away
I despise my human side
That holds disguise of rest
Choices give then take away
And the hurt remains unblessed

My giving host, what must I do to know
To cleave to faith and hold it true
To understand and grow
I give weight to struggles deep
And call upon my mind
Always knowing I am nothing,
I am unworthy and behind

Oh My Love, I ache and fall again
Come and bestow strength to me
And hold me as a friend
I will lose without your touch
Without your precious gifts
For I am weak and fall below
I need your hands to lift

Forgive me Lord, today I choose to pray
I sense your presence
Near and true on this my dying day
I thank you Lord for this time
That we have met and shared
Though I could not deserve your grace
For I am the unprepared

Though you did post before, I will count this as your first official post.(Amen) Though I am most certain that none could say that I am totally prepared to hear the tragic news of death, I think as your poem points out that equally many are not prepared to hear the Good News that GOD's Grace, though undeserved, is sufficient to give to us a life that we could never know apart from Him. I love the humbleness that you express here in your poem.  Very nice poetry, GOD Bless You, and again Welcome.

Thanx Bob-

It is so interesting how so many can see different meanings within a poem.  I can see how this poem could be about death, but originally the word 'dying' in the poem is actually an abstract expression of how my spirit felt when I was writing; as if I was once again dying to self to take in God's gift of rebirth.  Anyway thank you very much for your comments all of you.  It means a lot to me.

Mysteria - try my email now.. I forgot to capitalize on some letters in my email address..

Thanx again everybody - Tim

What a wonderful piece.. I really enjoyed this. It's wonderful to serve a God that hears our dying whispers... Welcome to Passions, I'm glad to have you here!

Oh, make me Thine forever
And should I fainting be
Lord, let me never ever
Outlive my love for Thee

and He said, "Love thy neighbor as thyself." Seems such a difficult thing to settle in one's mind, yet if we allow Him to come in, can we do else, but love ourselves as well, for yes, He is sufficient, He promises it so. To love our neighbor we must first love ourselves. It's a circle, is it not?

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
