forgiven

I walked along--
before me
a mirror
showing me
me
my real self
who i am
each facet of me
my inside
my outside
my upside
my downside
i wept
pure pain
of the filthy rag
of me

lying there
crumpled
as in a hamper--
He lifted me
to Himself
cleansed me
called me

in Him
His own,
He made me

whole

This is a real stand up and take notice piece and I imagine 99.9% of us can relate. Thank God for forgiveness, makes living with oneself a whole lot easier, that's for sure.

(sigh) Oh Virginia, this is lovely, sweet friend, this made me smile to see Him hugging all the children of the world and the children smiling with cheering joy! (big hugggsssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Virginia, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

I'm sure God did not see you in the pathetic way  you saw yourself. Wonderful that he can fix us up so we like ourselves.  Joyce

I really think that forgiveness is the greatest virtue, greatest happening, greatest gift that has ever been created. What a wonderful way to put it!

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.--Jesus Christ

I like how you presented your poem here. Very nice. Your poem reminds me of a couple of important things.  First, that my own righteousness is as filthy rags before my GOD. Second, I am reminded here of the Prodigal when he returns home to his Father and immediately the Father tells the servants to go and get the very Best robe and place it upon his Son. GOD truly does lift us up when we come to Him. He really does have the very best for us. (Amen) Again, very nice poetry.
