Renewal

An emptied room is in my house.
It's ready and it waits for me
To fill it up with lovely things;
To be the great room it should be.

I threw the messy litter out
And swept the floor with trusty broom.
With walls and ceiling painted bright
It is a sparkling brand new room.

It is a room filled with sunshine.
It is a room to warm cold hearts.
A room to inspire poetry
That has been given a fresh start.

My life so like that jumbled room
Is in need of a cleaning too.
Useless clutter must be removed
To make a life worthy of You.

What a WOW of a poem. I need both of these may times over. Especially where I have these 8-legged co-inhabitants suspended in the corners of the room, watching me, waiting.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Absolutely true in my corner of the world. Really loved this a lot, but then everything you write is 'TOP DRAWER'.

(smiles) Yay, and may we all spring-clean our hearts every year and find the sunshine coming through the stained glass of our hearts! (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is beautifully touching, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Joyce, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

What a wonderful parable! Yes.. there are many meaningless things in our hearts that we must get rid of, sometimes, to let Christ come in fully. Great work.

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.--Jesus Christ

Great poem, Joyce. Reminds me to do some spiritual housecleaning too.

I suppose, a good spring cleaning is good most anytime. Myself, I like your poem because I admit that I can get pretty comfortable and very relaxed with the way things are around my spiritual house though I know that I do need to get up and get to moving things about a bit.  Good job.  -Bob

Sounds like a new beginning..a good read for me as I am getting ready to move into a brand new home never occupied before, hoping to make those white walls a cheerful comforting place we will call home. I can see the spiritual meaning behind this poem also.

I can relate here in more ways than one - just moved and the clutter wouldn't all fit in our new place, the same way the clutter of my past does not fit into my mind of today.
