Here Today Gone Tomorrow
By Paul Wilson

It doesn’t matter what you say or think
All that you have can be gone in a blink
One tick of the clocks hand can change it all
Are you ready if God decides to call

We never know what tomorrow will bring
No guarantee on life… to hope we cling
Today we may face judgment for our sins
Today life may end…or does it begin?

Forgiveness our reward if we just ask
Surly… that is not too great of a task
Eternal life the gift from our savior
It’s not too late to change our behavior

God I pray please help guide me to do right
Watch over me, keep me safe day and night
Let me live another day…this I pray
Maybe I can lead someone else your way

If I stumble please help me up my friend
Alone this battle I can never win
God give me the strength to help those in need
Teach me your love…so I may plant it’s seed

When my time is over I will be here
Waiting for you…never shedding a tear
Each day a new challenge we all must face
God give us what we need… to win the race

"To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you"

We surely don't have any guarantees - any of us... The best we can do is live today to its fullest - These are wise and lovely words, Paul.. Thanks for sharing them..

Yes, life is so precious, my friend, and I am learning how very fragile we truly are... Like you have written, there are no guarantees on life and it truly is only by the Grace of God that we can take our very next breath.  Your poem emphasizes to me how very fragile life truly is and stresses an urgency to come to God while He can yet be found. I join you in your prayer here to run the good race. (Amen) I love the tenderness that I feel from your heart in this poem. God bless and I hope to be reading more of your poetry here at Spritual.

Paul, aaah, we should never take life for granted and should live each day to the fullest. Unfortunately, many of us do not do that.

"... Today life may end…or does it begin?..."  In my opinion, it will just begin...

Wonderful poem with lots of wisdom and lines to ponder.

Hugs,  Marti

Lighthousebob...Thank you kind sir for taking time to read. This is my third poem posted in this forum and I really enjoy being able to share these words with everyone...Paul

Your words are so right, it is by the grace of God that we exist and he can call us home at anytime so we should be prepared. This just came to me last night and I know that God sent me these words to write, I only hope they reach someone that truly needs God to come into their life, because he is waiting all they have to do is ask.
May God Bless You always.

I try to live by your words, knowing in a split second it could be over for any of us.  This is such a wise poem and the presentation of your words was done with such absolute reverence and grace.  I truly enjoyed this reminder of our precious gift of life.

Beautiful... what a beautiful plea to those who need Him, and what a beautiful prayer to Him to give you what you need. Poetically, the structure is great, and the content is just amazing. Good job...
