One of the Goddesses I have always been drawn to is the Lady Persephone. She is real to me and I wrote this poem in Her honor as the Goddess of Spring.

Birds are perched atop their trees
Singing their sweet melodies
Below them spreads a canopy of green
Covering everything that can be seen
And a gentle breeze wafles by
Not a cloud mars the perfect blue sky
And you wonder could this be Spring?

Is it true Demeter's daughter has returned to the land?
Bringing the seeds of life She holds in Her hand?
Does our beloved Goddess once again walk the Earth?
Bringing us Her Joy and Mirth?
And once more bringing life to this parched ground?

No more lamentations, no more tears
Lovely Persephone once more is here
The Golden Child, gently singing
Flowers blooming, bells ringing
Announce to us She is near

The laughing Goddess, gentle fair
With flowers entangled in Her hair
No more must Her Mother mourn
Once again Spring is born
Rejoice all, She has returned again
To bring Winter to it's end

Wow!!! What a coincidence, Persephone is also one of my favorite mythical characters, she is both a goddess of beauty but also very mysterious and knowing Demeter made the deal with Hades that she'll be free in nature spring and summer and come to the underworld autumn and fall what  omnipresence she posseses! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is marvelous, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sikanda, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

A delightful brief encounter shared here in Greek Mythology.... I too am so very Greatful that she is released to us by the underworld a brief period for each year to brighten and enlighten our world and our spirits. Just imagine if we had no Spring?? I think a wonderful poem for this time of the year.  A little needed chear like a ray of sunshine streaming through the clouds that can brighten the darkest of souls. Very nice poetry.  And if I haven't yet welcomed you to Passions, let me welconme you now.

What a delightful poem and I am with you on wanting the rain to stop here, as we don't get the cold here but sure get tons of rain.  Nicely done I enjoyed it very much.
