Procrastination

Mount Baker looming bright and clear,
Like God seems very far, yet near.
For forty years within my sight,
And I have never claimed its height.
A new chance given every day,
Not taken as I turned away.

And now I know I'll never climb
Up there amid the clouds sublime.
How many offers have I spurned
From God, as I my back have turned
On him, when he has proffered me
A fulfilling opportunity.

When these occasions come no more,
I'll find myself at Heaven's door;
Judged not so much by deeds committed
As by the ones I have omitted.

So many opportunities we pass by - we are, but human, a procrastinating bunch a lot of us. I certainly would have to own up to it myself.  Super poem.

Joyce:  Really enjoyed your poem and remember, mountain climbing is not for everyone!

Certainly makes those "stains" appear a little more brightly.

This was wonderful Joyce. Certainly says a lot!

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Joyce, I think we all are guilty of this act, yet I feel we are all children and it all depends on how much faith you have that you step up to the pedestal and look up to the light! (big hugggssssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, my prayers go out to all the children of the world who struggle to find this gift, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Joyce, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Thank GOD that you don't live by Mount Everest!! (Highest point on the Earth's surface)(Smiles) I know at times that others have tried to put their own convictions upon me to climb higher than I was ever intended to go. Amen.  GOD has a special way of coming to us with his soft, still, yet nudging voice.  Oh, I am very confident in that you are one who is very acquainted with the direction that GOD has upon your life and would never give ear to a lessor call.  I'm sure that you will hear one day in Heaven.... Well done. You good and faithful servant. Amen. Very good poem, but don't feel at all bad my friend about not climbing that mountain.
