And The Wind Whispered 'Mary'
~*Marge Tindal*~

On a night long ago, Wind came
calling out 'Mary' - knew her by name
Blew across the barren plains
in a land so very far away

Found 'Mary' sheltered safe inside
a stable in the countryside
Saw Joseph standing by his bride
in wait of a miracle yet to be born

Gently, Wind buffeted about in awe
at the vision of the star he saw
Rising in the sky without flaw
Shining brightly in celestial adorn

From within the stable bare
came a mewing breath of air
that the Child of God would wear
to teach the world to sing in mirth

Suddenly Wind began to claim
'Mary'-'Mary' blessed is thy name
Blew in gusts, then he came
to spread the news of Jesus' birth

Wind summoned angels in to see
as the Babe lay so quietly
Cradled ever so gently
in the lap of 'Mary'

'Mary' smiled at Wind and said
This Babe now sleeps in manger bed
You've warmly blown upon His head
Wind wept tears in gentle shed
at the compassionate glory of 'Mary'

So if upon this eve so bright
you should hear Wind tonight
Listen closely, you will hear so dearly
'Mary'-'Mary' praised on Wind so clearly

Hello Marge

I especially loved this one as my mother in law's name is Mary and she is such a fabulous lady.  We get on so very well and she has the kindest of hearts.  I'm sending this to her so she can read it.

Take care.......Sue

This has to be one of your best, Marge!!!
Such a wonderful story, well written. Makes me think of everything that must have been going thru her mind and heart. A very special woman indeed!

Marge, this is such a beautiful telling of the birth of Christ and his Blessed Mother, Mary.

If it's okay, I'd love your permission  to read it to my family on Christmas Eve.
They will just go ga-ga over it!

Hugs for the Season dear lady, Marti

Marge~ A beautiful story you tell with words so sweet. It made me remember back when my daughter was 9 or 10 years old and she played Mary in the school play. I guess they don't have religous plays at school anymore with all the church vs. school thing. That is very sad for alot of people.
Thanks for reposting...Paul

What a wonderfully noble adaptation of the Christmas story as told by the wind and experienced by Mary. Merry (Mary) Christmas!!

Softly, ever so softly, you have whispered these glorious words into my soul. I am stilled in the hush of your words of compassion and love for our beloved Mary.

~ Blessed are you for this, dear heart!

This is a great Christmas poem.  I have a lovely picture of her that Standing Buffalo gave me before he passed on to heaven.
