This is about my first missions trip where i went into inner city LA for two weeks and stayed at a church and met these amazing kids. That was two years ago, an yet though i have not idea what happend to them i have the faith and hope that they still believe in Christ who used me to reach them. I stepped off the van and instantly I was surrounded Eighty little faces staring up at me with dark, deep empty eyes My heart broke for them last night But, I was here and I needed to break down again This wasen't right They were torn you could tell Living in such conditions This was America, how was this possible They new nothing of a secure home They wanted something from me What could I offer to them I have been trained but it flew out the window I had to be real, give them love In my heart I prayed for each one I held them in my arms held their damaged hands in mine Wiped the tears away I told them a story Something they never heard about a father they never met Someone who loved them There empty eyes were soon not empty They had a new life in their eyes Their pain was gone They held my hand and cried for joy Those eyes are blazed in my mind I can't forget them I was sent and came back My mind renewed These children gave me love poured out their lives to me someone who can never understand but they found someone who can |
