Sitting there, the smell of stale beer,
of fallen tears and laughter that died.
Sipping the last suds off of a stained
glass, covered in my own tears
as I cried.

I sat there, in want of you, I sat there
I cried...
I sat there, in need of two, this heart
and soul that died...

I wish to be beside you, I wish that
you were there.
I want to love and guide you, my darling...
I’ve always cared.

You came then through that door,
you never knew I was there.
You came in, across that floor
you walked over to him...

I sat there, in want of you, I sat there
and died...My heart broke without
you, I sat there,   I cried...

We once were in love you know
we did things as a team.  We walked
through the fallen snow...our life then...
A dream...

I sit there, I dream of you...
I sit there, I cry....
I want to again love you...
I sit there, I die...

Sorrow filled my heart recalls,
A love that waltzed away with one new.
Left here alone for many falls,
Reading this my hearts once again breaks in two.

Of all I've lost; I miss my innocence  the most.

This is a sad one, but it is a wonderful pouring out of heartfelt emotions.

Nothing worse than sitting there while the one you love is loving on someone else.

Talk about in your face!

A sorrowful write indeed and one I can relate to.  Hugs~

Barry, you've expressed longing, deep sadness very, very well in this piece.  Only hope it's not a true story.  Be well!

The stars will shine when I am gone,
the earth will turn on as before,
the gulls, still race along the shore,
the morning star, still kiss the dawn

You came in, across that floor
you walked over to him...

This is a scene a thousand and more men could tell, but not describe so concisely and well.  Love your work.  Ken J

Barry,

You write everything so well, so I am not surprised you can come through with this sad tale. Heart touching.

Warm regards, Pat

Barry

A feeling that many have had at one time or another, expressed so well, the way that only you can.
