state of confusion

Something

When these miles finally melt
and time brakes seconds down
into clarity,
something is summoned -
an image, us on the sand,
against the beachhead,
waves crashing around us
and your eyes are the colour
of the sea.

Light falls in setting hues,
the sun slips in
and out
from behind
clouds.

Home is there,
finding me giddy,
all dreams wrapped up
in layers of you.
