Balancing

Toes tipped on ledge,
I am poised to tumble,
limp limbs set to collapse.

I’ll throw myself headlong
into west winds,
points of compass misplaced,
picking out wrong stars.

You are in another hemisphere,
some sky above my atmosphere.
Drifting about in this cloud,
I may never see you.

Somehow, you have found
the girth of a constellation
to walk upon.

When I finally break through my fog,
your thoughts will be ferried
with the speed of comets.

I will come,
and know what it is
to fall.

You are also one of my favorite poets here at PIP.  This write was very deep and lingering. I loved the texture of the images, and the music in the background.

i really like this until the final stanza.

the juxtaposion of wind and luck being leaned on in s2 was really cool.

you lose steam though at the end. "zephyrs" does not make sense, Zephyr IS the western wind in greek myth. also the whole metaphor of falling and being carried on wind (i think) got confused in the word play and it took me several reads to sort it out.

anyway, it was still good, and I really do think you are one of the best on these boards.

Beautifully done, and I am afraid I am no critic, so I thought this was perfect to the point I saved another one of yours for future reading.  Thank you.

Corinne, I also am no critic, so the only way I know anything about a poem is if I can  FEEL  something from it. I always feel from your poetry. Thank you for sharing with us.

(sigh) And sometimes falling can feel so touch at first but then you feel so graceful as if you're trying to balance on that same beam you never maintain any extra space! (big hugggsssssss) Yay, I love this, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Corinne, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Corinne, that was one well-defined balancing act! Gosh, you're good! Someday, you may even believe your readers when they tell you how much your poetry means to them!
