You can find the link to the poetry challenge above, revived from its original March running! It is to write a poem of any form or length either of the artist you and your love fell in love with together when you fell in love or to write a love poem and adding a specific song title or the artists name within the poem! Yay, good luck!

Shakira is the artist me and Joanna have fallen in love with and whose lyrics inspire our love! She comes from Colombia and writes both beautiful love songs and intense political and rebellious unorthodox poetic lyrics! She is my favorite artist as she has a beautiful personality and a poetic soul that inspires both children and adults. Yay!

I can't wait to read what artists inspire the rest of you and how their music makes you feel!

Shakira (A Woman Of Grace)
By: Noah Eaton
3/9/02

Underneath your clothes there's lies a legend
Whenever, wherever, you amplify intense Latin passion
A woman of grace, a woman of spirit
God gave her a name, Shakira

Everyone knows it just takes a little "Magia" to make your dreams come true
Through rose-colored glasses, you see the world in a romantic view
Just toss a coin into a washing machine
You've got a Laundry Service of a Muse that gleams

You soar from Colombia like a blue morpho butterfly
With romantic songs that bring tears to my eyes
I would walk a thousand miles just to give you a hug
And see you with Joanna in concert to hear your music I love

Underneath your clothes there's lies a legend
Whenever, wherever, you amplify intense Latin passion
A woman of grace, a woman of spirit
God gave her a name, Shakira

Shortly after you stepped into my life, my love
We fell in love with her music together, crooning like lovesick doves
Running with Pies Descalzos and resting on Suenos Blancos
With her youth in heart, we will rock on every tomorrow

Shake ‘em up, shake it down, shake your hips, let them sway
Belly-dance, let your heart give all you have away
“Love is lacking in our leaders and our leaders are lacking love!”
So let the rebel in your heart come out and speak with true love

Underneath your clothes there's lies a legend
Whenever, wherever, you amplify intense Latin passion
God calls you a woman of grace, a woman of spirit
They gave you a name...Shakira

Gabriel Garcia Marquez and the Pope grant you the best wishes
Your presence always creates such a dervish
Me and Joanna have fallen in love listening to you
On our first date, your metronome will sing upon our romantic lagoon

You wail that harmonica like John Popper, you vibe like Led Zeppelin
You dance like a pro but recite poetry like Bob Dylan
Every little thing you do is salsa and merengue
Yet the youth in your lungs is always rocking everyday

Underneath your clothes there's lies a legend
Whenever, wherever, you amplify intense Latin passion
God calls you a woman of grace, a woman of spirit
They gave you a name...Shakira
Underneath your clothes there's lies enchantment
Your music is the one I want to hum while me and Joanna share loves first kiss
God calls you a woman of grace, a woman of spirit
They gave you a name...Shakira
Shakira...
Shakira…

"Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..."

Shakira

I have too many songs and artists that make me feel emotion, inspire writing, and touch my life. Too many to list but I will say this poem of yours is beautiful, along with the pictures too. You are such a deep thinker and a deep feeling man Noah.

Now, Noah, I have no idea how I missed this one. I love it and I will try to meet your challenge, though Gary and I are inspired by a lot of songs and artists......

Hey Noah!  Que Pasa, amigo?
Je vais cherchez l'amour, mon dieu, aussi!
(from Sp to Fr, sorry!)

Your poetic song had a feeling that it was 'calling', and i guess that is how the beckoning feels to you.  You certainly made
that emotion come to life, Noah!
Be well, and love life, ami!

And Ethel, you did so wonderfully on my challenge, I love your response, yay!
