The snow's melting
Leaving a unified mess
In the yard

Much like us

Our son's hat lay askance
Like red candy stuck
On a dirty carpet
Next to the exhausted shovel
Looking for a hand up-
The boy never cared
About the cold;
One glove carelessly stuck on
The post of our wood fence
In frozen salute
Much like yours at the end
Of the day

But I've got something for ya

Our daughter's purple sparkle scarf
The bearer of ill tidings
To poor peeko the bear
Swing at the whim of
Cold winds
One dark button eye
Catches mine & instantly
We know...
Kindred spirits

A shriek of laughter,
Splits the calm
School's out
And my free pass
has been confiscated
The Circus is in town
and as usual, I'm left
With the scooper

now i'm shivering...

I liked this little slice that holds a bit more than it might seem at first... much, as you suggested here, like life.

(sigh) Wow, this too gave me goosebumps, sweet friend, I just love the way you describe everything, your words have more colors than Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Baileys, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

How difficult it must be for you, to survey that scene. Warm wishes.

Soliel, thank you. From what I hear at home, I do indeed warm well.

Cpat, That's just the point, the clowns came home from school interrupting my poetic moment. Fun, fun!

Diamond, Thank you.

Christopher, yes, a lot of life, loving, and putting up with one another's quirks. Sometimes it's messy but always worth it.

Mistletoe Angel, I like it when my poetry gets inside of a reader. It's the best compliment of all.

Midnitesun, not hard at all. I love thinking of my family- circus tho it be sometimes. A good sense of humor is needed and thank goodness I have one.

Passing Shadows, Thank you.

Robert Adamson, Trust me, it is fun- most of the time. And, you're welcome!
