The heart of you

0 posted 2002-12-11 10:17 AM

I have noticed that the moon shines differently when we are not together.
Perhaps, it is because I am used to seeing it reflected in your eyes.
Eyes of love that could make even the dullest of objects shine with fire and brilliance.
Through your eyes, I have seen even the simplest of weeds become roses.
For you look not as I do, you see beyond what is there, and I envy you for that.

Then, you take what you have seen and tell me its story.
You tell me as only you can, with words that flow from you even easier than water.
Washing over me, and making me want to hold them in my ears as long as possible.
But, since I can only listen for a moment, I treasure each of your words as I do jewels;
Placing each one in my life’s chest, holding them there until time and life become one.

Yes, I have noticed that the moon shines differently when we are not together
Because I am used to seeing it reflected in your eyes.
Eyes of love that make even the dullest of objects shine with fire and brilliance.
Through your eyes, I have seen even the simplest of weeds become roses.
Perhaps, that is why you love me,
For you look not as I do, you see beyond when is there, and I love you for that.

What light through yon window breaks?  It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.

This is quite a beautiful reflection,
within the soul, and in the read.

Thank you.

(sigh) This is so beautifully heartfelt, sweet friend, this brought tears to my eyes as I long to see the moon reflect in my Joanna's eyes for the first time and be able to distinguish that difference! (big hugggssssss) I wish for this love to always shine in your loves eyes, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

It smiled at us your first night back...that moon.
I love you and your poetry, Sir Romeo.

very beautiful piece.  The moon does shine differntly when love is gone/absent.  And our differnces are the most important pieces of a relationship. It is what attracts us.

Loved the read dude. Excellent

Thank you all.

Dear One, it did indeed, just like you.  I love you, and miss you terribly.

Moonlight Romeo - truly a romantic write about the moonlight. It does tell a tale of longing, of which I also know well...

You certainly lived up to your name with this poem!

BTW, I believe that you look beyond the obvious as does your lady love.
