He had a Runnin' W brand,
Burned on his woolly flank.
Blunted horns, a brindle hide,
A name for being rank.

Drawn four times this season,
I had yet to make a ride.
I think that I would turn him out,
If it wasn't for my pride.

My pride cost me a marriage,
And a lot of "might have beens".
I'd lose my nose to spite my face,
I haven't any sense.

Forty-five is too blamed old,
To follow rodeo...
But what's a fellow gonna do?
It's the only life I know.

So I will drop my riggin',
Just behind his hairy hump.
Pull my rope, and take my wrap,
And spur him every jump.

Yank my wrap, and take a bow-
When I hear that buzzer go-
And drive that beat-up truck of mine
To another rodeo.

Gunslinger... Enjoyed...Paul

Chasing that gold buckle on to the next show don't be late.
Put on your gear again hoping you can hold on for eight.

That's a pretty rough way to travel now John. Stay away from those bucking 18 wheelers, cowboy.
