Pagan or Christian
Agnostic or Jew
The solstice is passing
And parties they threw

Light all the fires
Call back the sun
Dance with the moon
For winter’s begun

Linked to each other
By the cycles of life
We still as a people
Dwell on the strife

So light all the fires
Call back the sun
Dance with the moon
For winter’s begun

Well now let me guess
who shall come on by
Seren, I'm sure
this will catch her eye

Janet Marie who shall smile
under silvery moon,
perhaps Midnitesun
and the list shall boom...

of course there's me
but then I'm unceasing
a poem of Captain's?
You'll find me reading...

quite clever Sunshine.... now I know why I do not venture into rhyme often....too many of you here to show me up ( laughing)

JM... it is ok the world will not end... I got special permission to write a few in rhyme from the Muses and in return for me promising not to make a practice of rhyme, they would not pull all inspiration to the human race, even though I offered to give mine up freely for just one good sonnet with my name on it... ( laughing)

It's just begun?  Already feels like it's been here forever.

thank you ma'am... glad you liked that little ditty... just an old one because Sy remarked to one of my others that it stung like a killer bee... I thought I should offer everyone something a bit lighter in nature seeing as how the season is supposed to be one of gladness...

Ron

Winter fast approaches
draw the fire near
time to cuddle meaning
with embrace of someone dear
