Listening to every heart

0 posted 2002-12-09 05:24 PM

He Wrote

he wrote,
once,
for me

a song,
a lyric
a melody

he wrote
once, then
came to sing

voice to ring
inspiring

he came and
wrote a song
for me

lithesome,
lovesome
melody

brought my
sigh
right along

such was
tender
harmony

made me
feel as if
I belonged

so how
can this
bliss
be remiss

not, say I
not at all
and in
his song

the fever
assails

lifts me
high

and I
sail

I sail
on sigh

on high

tonight

to
heaven

28 December 2000

Some decades ago
a friend said
"Neil Diamond wrote a
song for you!" She was
so excited, for she had
misunderstood the lyrics
to "Sweet Caroline" and
thought that Neil had
sung "Sweet Karilea"...

At the time, I found
it charming...
today...
I remember it
with warm smiles.

Karilea

I have taken songs as mine, without someone telling me they were, just because they fit so well.  I'm sure Neil would be pleased.

Ahhh..and I thought he was singing, "Sweet Nancy Lee"...LOL.
Actually all my family sings.. "Alone again...Nancy Lee" when they hear that song.."Alone again, naturally".
This is so cute..I will always think of you when I hear this song now.

Since I was a young girl I have loved listening to Neil Diamond.  His music is timeless.
His song I am I said.......I love it.
The line "I am I said to no one there, and no one heard at all.....not even the chair".....

Loved it as much as I love this.  Smile lady......always.....that brite smile of yours!

I think he did write for you, maybe not the words but the theme is there, and you have responded so lovingly.

*s..I misunderstand words all the time in songs..I think we sometimes make them what we wish them to be...love the new picture.

Your words glide down the page like a soft rose petals. Very pretty.

And perhaps we all misunderstood Neil Diamond. Maybe he did say, "Sweet Karilea". I mean, how appropiate!

Loved the memory Karilea, and really you do NOT want to hear what I misunderstood in a song by accident, trust me and this is a family site after all.

Kari darling heart

Mushy smiles

How brief is that? See I did it.

I loved it utterly utterly

Love and warm stuff
As always
Mushy

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the earthquake wind and fire
