If I stop running
It will get me
It will swallow me
I will disappear

I can’t turn to see
If it’s still following me
Cause I will lose speed
And it will catch up with me
I’ll be gone forever

I’m willing myself on
Why doesn’t it ever get bored?
Of chasing me
And move on to another

I’m loosing energy
I don’t know
If I can carry on
I’m so tired
And I feel so strained

It’s dragging everything
Out of my soul
Ripping from me
All the joy in my heart
And taking away
Everything that I am

Anger is falling upon me
But I can’t waste the time
All that I have left

So with every part of me
Every strength
I haul myself onto the lowest branch
And begin to climb
Faster as I get higher
Driving myself on
So I can be hidden
And safe

Safe from all this hurt
And all this fear
All that I run from
Will just fall away
And leave me as I am
Just me.

Rosie,
Good one! Effective, I felt the frantic, heavy-breathing haste.
