if I scream,
will you hear me?
would one scream be enough,
(or two..or three)
to make you feel powerful again?
how many? how loud?

~listen to my whisper~
my soul will not scream again

I no longer stand
rooted
while you carve, then crunch
curled shavings
beneath your feet;
I scaled
the rot-wood picket fence
of your mind prison
and pardoned my sentence--
peace and freedom are sweet

you may have returned,
but the scream of me
is gone

and I no longer
grant you
the power~~

"And it was at that age...Poetry arrived in search of me...And something started in my soul."
Pablo Neruda

Yes! "And I no longer grant you the power."

That is the key to getting ~unhooked~ in every way.

Liked this a great deal.

Warm regards, Pat

peace and freedom are sweet
indeed they are hard won...and anything hard won is sweet.

respect again for the courage and the write.
