Sleep.
Morpheus swooping down
to hold in a utopian state,
to capture me in lethargic repose.
Slumber freezing me
in a comatose rest
too warm for The Reaper.
A soporific land.
A barely moving hybrid
of the daydreams from a school girl
and nightmares from a teenager.
A blazing pair of eyes,
Choked by heavy, imposing lids.
Black Silence giving way,
opening before me, brightening to
a multicolored galaxy,
containing an infinite number of worlds,
containing a multitude of ever-changing faces.
A place of every half-remembered song,
every forgotten detail,
every repressed horror,
every sad, ghastly day.
Everything ever experienced
Everything never experienced
Everthing in this enormous land,
This Land of Nod.

Ice this is just flawless writing.
"too warm for The Reaper"
Sleep is death, but not at the hands of the reaper. Reincarnated every time we wake.
Thanks

Indeed, Sleep is death, and our dreams are our Heaven, as well as our hell.

Jessica, your poem painted "This Land Of Nod" into my mind's eye.
Very well-written, Jessica. Thank you for sharing.

Jessica?  Thanks for noticing the copyright , but I prefer Jess, or Jessie, if it's ok.  My dad is the only person that calls me Jessica.
