I'll not be satisfied until hewn limbs bejewel the field,
This won't be rectified until the mausoleum's sealed!

I'll hack and slash and stab until the skeleton's revealed,
They'll beg and kick and grab and pray that my assault will yield!

They'll have no knowledge of my name -- with countenance concealed,
I'll point my blade above and sneer, "Your god withdrew his shield!"

The massacre will end before the warning bell is pealed,
My foes cannot defend against the power that I wield!

The enemy must pay because my wounds remain unhealed,
This is their final day; the sentence cannot be repealed!

Thanks for the reply!  On EVERY poetry forum (except this one) rhyming verse is despised for some reason.

Welcome to Passions in Poetry! You made your debut with an incredibly powerful write!

I for one, am very fond of rhyme---I believe it started when I was a child!--I enjoyed the Nursery variety! lol

P.S. Remind me to never get on your bad side! tehe!

Makes no sense this modern arrogance regarding rhyme considering it's the origin of poetry. Your rhyme is welcome here. And this had a bloody well good flow.

WELCOME  TO  PASSIONS  IN  POETRY

Where all forms of poetry are welcome. This is really a good place
to be, because everyone and their poetry is welcome. I hope you
like it here. Rhyme is the kind of poetry I like best, personally.
But, I like every form that I've read here. I guess because
everyone here writes from their hearts.

BTW, I enjoyed reading your first post, and hope to read more.
