Walking through mustiness
Cobwebs sticking to my hair
Been too long in darkness
Since anyone has been there
Chests, tables and chairs
Discarded to storage
And nobody now cares
Dirty windows block the light
Except for thin beams
Where dust particle take flight
Dancing in my passing
To check the rusty locks
On the chicken wire cages
That confine overflowing boxes
Just a warehouse of dust
Molded papers and books
And tricycles gone to rust
Footprints from last night walk
To the sound of moaning wind
Checks all the windows and doors
And this round come to an end.

Dirk

Dirk,

I like this poem.....kinda reminds me of my mind, but I don't lock it too tightly, some things salvagable, others throw away...and some, just let the dust cover for another time.

Enjoyed the read.

Warm regards, Pat

enjoyed this much, reminded me of that dark shed down the back of the house, where noone ventures things get put in there to rust and die, not longer useful to us
